Rusty is taking a break...

As of 10:55 am central standard time on April 4th, I was officially unemployed again. Company layoffs suck. Everyone who has had one knows. Didn’t exactly see it coming, but being that I am such a cynic, I sorta did. Still shocking. It’s never fun.

So on a hurried move-out note, I’ll be moving back to San Antonio ASAP and will be hoping to reemerge soon enough. I’ll be around, but not for a few days. I live simple so the move shouldn’t kill me, but moving still sucks no matter. And I still have a few lights en route to here.

new horizons, I guess.

Sorry to hear that Rusty… Good luck.

Sorry to hear that Rusty. Times are tough for so many people. My company had some more layoffs just recently as we are downsizing. Two pay cuts since 2008. I wouldn't be surprised if my job isn't around much longer.

I hope you get back on your feet soon!

Good luck with the relocation. I hope it works out to be a positive move, long-term, and you get back on your feet quickly.

best wishes from my part as well!!

Best of luck, Rusty! Real sorry to hear about your situation but I'm sure you will bounce back. Please don't stay away from the board for too long, even if you won't be buying any new lights for a while. ;)

good luck! i know all to well the layoff situation…. it aint fun.

wish you will be better Rusty. you will have a new life and will be better than before.

wish you will be better Rusty. you will have a new life and will be better than before.

Wishing you the best of luck. Prayers for your quick employment.

It really sucks when it it happens, I know from past experience and recently my oldest son with nine other fellows, was laid off his job last week.

Best of luck to you Rusty! Soon enough you'll have those Chinese budget lights rolling in again!

Make it a point to consider the good that surrounds you. You're not in jail or the hospital, and you've got the BLF crew for a cheerleading squad!

heres hoping that things turn out well for you rusty

Keep your head up. Been there, done that many times. Our place is closing the end of this year.

I recently got laid off from my job I've had for 30 years. I feel your pain :( I wish you the best my friend

Chin up Joe, hoping things turn out well.

Glenn you too? Oh boy, sorry to hear that as well, neighbor...

Hang in there Rusty. Let us know how things go for you in San Antonio. I know a lot of people in your situation. Just be diligent and you’ll find another job.

Good luck to you!

Thanks Tom. I'm not surprised to be honest. I was making too much money according to them, so they hired a young guy a couple of years ago to be my "helper".... yeah right. Such is life. Luckily I'm financially secure, my house is paid off, and I have a tenant who pays for most of my household expenses. Also, I'll be 61 on May 2nd. That means I'll be able to collect my social security in a year. Still, I've spent half my life at this company, so it is more of a mental blow that anything else. I'll be just fine. Thanks again Tom :)

Again, this is a thread about Joe. We should all wish him well!

Glenn

Here’s to a quick job search and relocation Rusty. Best of luck to ya. You’ll drive right by me midway on your trip to San Antonio, give me a wave when you drive through Troy.

Good luck Rusty. Remember you have friends here(everywhere).
