Sad day at FastTech No more battery sales period

Just checked the FT site and all the batteries and even the Placeholder Dummy Batteries are all marked “Sold Out” We can only sell them in lots of 100 due to air shipping restrictions or something close to that effect.
Not even NiMh, jumping the shark there a bit I do believe.

I really wanted to get some more of the Nice brand Primary Lithiums but no dice.
Glad I did get batteries from them in the past.

Anyway, grab those deals at WB and BG while you can.
Later,
Keith

, Good thing we have RMM!

Wonder why they can’t figure out to ship through malaysia and where ever else like the other companies.

They are showing some Samsung li-on batteries. Are there problems with Samsung?
Jerry

Aww man, that sucks. I really liked those Nice brand batteries.

Does anyone else carry them?

I hope FT will change their policies. They have the best battery prices that I am aware of.
Jerry

Crappy. They were my goto for batteries.

A lot on ebay.
Jerry

Give Illumination Supply a shot. These guys give the best service I have ever found anywhere and the prices are good in my opinion.

Dan.

I guess if they had a good option, they would use it.
Most of their lights depend on those lithium cells, that situation has to suck quite a lot for them!
I’m glad I got some LiFePo4 cells after the trouble started, but maybe it’s time for me to focus a little more on NiMH again.

They had the best prices on 3400mAH 186t0b's than anyone else.

This whole battery issue is annoying.
Several packages failed to deliver and several good items are harder to get.
For example, Fasttech was the cheapest seller for the nice lithium aa/aaa batteries as far as I know.
I really hope it’s just a temporary thing and things will get back to normal after the holiday period, including chinese newyear.

If I would have to start buying lithiums locally I probably will have to stop buying flashlights designed for this :frowning:

It's not Fasttech or China either. It's the other nations causing this and the airlines companies not wanting to carry them any more. I seriously doubt that this will be resolved, unless it's with even more stringent rules in the near future.

Has anyone news if this is temporarily or forever?

I remember getting DX packages via sea freight (Or at least customs inspection was at Hamburg HarborCity - I doubt they would do that with air mail)
Can’t they just send their stuff via ground/ sea mail? Better waiting for 4 weeks than getting nothing . . .

Ijust saw this the other day too and commented to another member here as well .

I think we have to realize Wallbuys took all their batteries off their site for a little bit a few weeks ago too .

and now they are back selling batteries .

I'm pretty sure fasttech will be back in a little bit as well .

They probably are just reeling from the management issues they were having and this massive return/rejection of their products being shipped .

My guess is this is somewhat temporary .

As to what the real long term availability of chinese sold lithium ion ......i think it's still very questionable

As it was noted above, looks like FT will still do large orders of 100pcs. That made me think about group buys again. It would have to be per country where they go to one person and then they have to redistribute (which means there will be additional shipping costs at that point), as there is little point in someone in the US getting them for example and then have to deal with international shipping regulations to resend them outside the USA. I’d probably commit to 25 pcs of NCR18650B. I wonder how Fasttech plans to ship those orders, I’m thinking probably DHL’s hazardous freight option perhaps? These batteries are becoming like Bitcoins, if you’d bought 100pcs a couple of months ago you could sell them off in a hearbeat locally now.

there are reasonable and reliable sellers on ebay that are us based… one is named r-isles or something like that and is based out of utah and ships very quick. illumination supply has good prices as well

also - i noticed orbtronic 3100mah arent too terribly expensive for being based in the us

we also have RMM

well manage until the li-ion ban craze has subsided… if it ever does

Prices for ncrbs are quite stable, wallbuys sells a protected pair for 15$, banggood for a tad more……
But there were some other good deals which are not available elsewhere, like the mentioned nice batteries or 18500.

Yeah there is, but $15.90 for 12 vs best price on epay of $23.55 for 12.
Put another way, roughly 50% more.

Hopefully Tmart or someone with US presence will bring a container full of them to the shores and at least get close to the FT pricing.
Thanks,
Keith
