[Sale] WildTrail BLF D80 V2 with XHP50.2 - limited quantity

Hello everyone,

Jacky Zhang (LuckySun / WildTrail) asked me to post some good news about their latest model, the BLF D80 V2.

Apart from the SST-40 and XP-L HI versions they now also offer a 3V XHP50.2 5.700K version on their AliExpress store.

They have limited quantities at a very reasonable price around $ 28.00 available now.

According to Jacky this version is being / was tested by DB Custom and uses Bistro UI like the other two versions.

The stated output is:

1. 0.01A at 1 lumen
2. 0.04A at 15.5 lumens
3. 0.34A at 139.6 lumens
4. 0.70A at 280 lumens
5. 2.03A at 772 lumens
6. 5.71A at 1843 lumens
7. 14.81A at 3410 lumens

Unfortunately, the original mastermind behind the BLF D80 V2, TheOnlyDocc, is still left without trace. :-(

The 3V XHP50.2 is a pretty ridiculous led to put in a light as small as the D80 but we are BLF so why not, it has been done before, the D4 is even smaller and has more output. I’m not in because of the tint and tintshift of the XHP50.2 but I see the attraction

I missed work due to the fires, the whole city was evacuated, had to throw away all our food due to lack of power, and blah, blah, blah, but I am still, of course, very interested, though I really shouldn’t be. I would love to see a beamshot. Very tempting.

I don't think there is a review yet and I'm not sure if he is up to creating one. I was only told that Dale did some testing. Maybe he will be so kind to chime in and tell us more about it.

I know it is a bit of overkill, and I love the sst-40, but this is the emitter I was originally hoping for. I just wonder if it is too many amps to be practical.

Anyone know what happened to Docc?

I’m not that interested in the XHP50.2 because the tint shift sucks. I rather see a 21700 tube offered for the light since the tube diameter is already larger than many 21700 lights. The 21700 will allow the light to hold its output much better throughout the discharge curve.

I don't dare making any assumptions and I thought long and hard before putting down these lines.

The last time I had contact on Skype with him was September 11, 2019. From that day on the contact broke off completely, i.e. he did not appear on TLF, BLF or Skype ever since. Jacky Zhang (LuckySun/WildTrail) also lost contact with him. :-( Before he disappeared, the Docc told us here on the BLF D80 V2 thread that his mother was expecting a difficult medical operation. In that same time he informed me that he suffered from serious health issues that I don't want disclose in detail for the sake of his privacy. Whatever happened to him, let's put our best hopes in a speedy recovery for him and his mother and that eventually he will show up again on BLF someday.

Regarding the springs, all three versions are made the same way, i.e. no spring bypasses.
