Well, maybe ill-fated, but we decided to take a trip to Cumberland Falls Monday. You can see a “moonbow” there at night during a full moon and we have been wanting to go for a while. With me having a few days off we thought we’d get out of Dodge for a few days, even with the conflicting weather reports. Some said partly cloudy some said rainy… whatever the case we were going! It was cloudy and drizzly the whole time of course, and cold. Thanks a lot hurricane Sandy for affecting Kentucky as well. Anyways we still went down at night to see the Falls. Of course it is pitch black there so it was spooky for the kids. Luckily I had about 9 or 10 lights on me ![]()
My wife wanted something small but powerful, gave her the ZL SC600. Gave my daughter the Small Sun ZY-A629 with the lanyard on her wrist… and gave my son the Skyray King with the lanyard also. I took the de-domed TF X9 and Armytek Predator xp-g2. I didn’t get many shots, we didn’t stay all that long and it was 40 degrees and nasty out, but here are a few. My camera sucks too, but it was cool if you saw it in person.
As you can see, it was pretty dreary. Couldn’t help but get a shot of the beam reaching across the river.
We went back the next morning. Even worse weather, but at least we got some more pics. We later went on a train ride. All in all a good trip, but still going back someday to see that darn moonbow ![]()
Here are some daylight pics for reference.
