I used the ham bone from New Year’s and made a huge pot of bean soup. Turned out great! As usual, my wife won’t eat any. She is always leery of my cooking. Her loss… more for me.

I use ham hock to make sauerkraut soup. My wife won’t touch it either.

Just got back from Dad’s house. Messing with a bunch of HAM radios he bought today. NO good cheese in house tonight. Pepsi and dry roasted peanuts .

Same here, only a bar of Cracker Barrel cheddar. Hadn’t had it in a while, now I recall why. Kind of an eerie aftertaste.

I actually quite like the cobblestone blocks of cheddar that Costco and/or Stop’n’Shop carry. That’s goooooood eatin’.

Tempted to make wino cheesecake. However much cream-cheese you want, fork-mix with ample sugar, keep going ’til it isn’t gritty anymore from undissolved granules.

Does in fact taste just like cheesecake minus the graham-cracker crust. The super-dense non-baked style of cheesecake, that is.

I’m at home watching Supercross. Loving it.

I know it’s Sunday morning now but I’m reading this very nice conversation.

Watching supercross used to be my favorite pastime besides ridin as a kid. I grew up 2 miles from a really motocross track. Miss it a ton. I passed a super cross race on tv a week or two ago and watch3d the last half hour. It was really nice to see it’s still being broadcast!

Nah.

Simple enough to just cut half a block of CC (I don’t even bother to let it warm up and soften), throw on sugar, keep mooshing and occasionally tasting (sweetness and test for “grit”).

Done.

well, this is Sunday, but last night was our first Clear Sky night in a while.
the Moon was just past Full and Mars was in a good place.
the local Owls are “dating” so i had background music.
other than Jets, not much Traffic in the sky.
only the odd Meteor or a dim Satellite.
humidity fogged the scope frequently.
binoculars were much better.
tonight might be good, too.

Warmer here in western Michigan as well, but still plenty of snow on the ground - it’ll take a at least few more weeks for it to melt, and we still can get more snow all the way to the end of March.

My cheap Nakiri knife just got delivered… looking forward to trying it out on some cabbage this evening.

Got “The Thing That Couldn’t Die” in the background. Notoriously bad, but still a hoot.

Best part is that the disembodied head doesn’t magically talk as if it still had lungs attached. Big plus just for that.

Definitely some nice scenery, too!

Just got back from a ride. Going to have some cheese.

Did rough run time comparison with a Manker E03 v2 and SC52. Both on M1.
Will need to redo as I must of had a bad cell in the SC52. It didn’t make it 5 hours.

5.5 hours the SC52 cell was showing .94 volts. The Maker was showing 1.19.

Really impressed with the Manker.
