Not for BLF members - But for WWW , I hope this will be picked up by search engines .. Im not trying to be insensitive - Just honest and factual .

Because the truth is the truth , history is history , and human nature being what it is ....

In 2011 in the USA 32,367 innocent lives were lost ... Because of an inanimate object

In 2011 in the USA 500,000 [ or so ] lives were lost .. Because of an inanimate object

In 2011 in the USA 75,000 [ or so ] lives were lost .. Because of an inanimate object

Im not trying to be insensitive ! Just Honest ....

Do you want to save 600,000 lives a year in the USA ?

600,000 People dont need to die if your prepared to give up 3 things ...

These things are currently Taxed and legal , everyone knows they kill , everyone knows lives could be saved !

The government [ many of whom profess to care about saving lives ] make money from these , and know exactly how dangerous they are and the number of people who lose there lives ever year as a result of these 3 things being freely available to the public .

Do you really care ?

Or are you all talk ?

I hate all 3 objects , I could live happily with these 3 inanimate objects being banned for ever ! Never being permitted to the public , ever .. With huge penalties for anyone trying to procure said item .

Do you really care ? These three items affect everyone , the young the old , the in-between 'ers , the unborn !

600,000 lives lost every year ! [ Just in the USA alone ]

Do you care ? Do you care enough to live without these 3 inanimate objects ? Do you care enough to save 600,000 lives a year . [ In the USA ]

Here is the problem , no body cares ! No one has cared for ? not cared enough to do something for a very very long time .

And when they did care ! People actually did not care ! They turned there backs on saving lives , because they did not care ! This is history , not a lie ! You cant change history !

Do you care ? Dont lie ! Do you really care ?

History sais one thing , its well recorded , its fact , people dont care ! Not enough to save lives ! This is fact ! This is history !

Do you care ? Are you prepared to make some adjustments in your life to save 600,000 lives ?

This is not about what happen recently - because that was tragic - this is about whether people actually care about saving lives , lives that everyone knows will be lost next year , lives that are going to be thrown away , as a bye product of people using these inanimate objects ..

History proves that every one in the world is prepared to see lives lost , so they can have these 3 items .

Its the price they are prepared to pay [ 600,000 lives in the USA alone ] , millions upon millions through out the world .

So do you really care ?

Its a fair question , because its easy for people to give up things they never cared for in the first place !

But do you care enough to give up something that actually will affect you ?

Really ? You care enough to save 600,000 lives in the USA [ for Americans - but it goes for everyone ] , you want to save 600,000 lives that are needlessly wasted every year ?

Live that actually can be saved , lives that need not be thrown away . lives that need not be collateral damage ..

You may not be in a car or smoking at the moment but somehow I believe alcohol is involved.

Not owned a car for 8 years, not driven one in the last 6. Now I just risk my life by riding a bike everywhere.

Booze I could give up tomorrow and not miss. It’s not uncommon for me to take a month off it.

Smokes… you can have these over my cold, dead, cancer ridden body! :bigsmile:

(actually it’s seasonal guilt trip time and I’m looking at eCigs as a way to quit the evil weed)

You make a good point, especially on alcohol and tobacco. It is hard to extend it to cars though as they really are so damn useful in day to day life. But I certainly agree that people should be looking to use other forms of transport whenever practical to do so.

I don’t drink or smoke. Spend that money on flashlights.
If they had a decent mass transit system around here, I’d be buying much fancier lights.

Problem is , Everybody is prepared to give up something they dont give a stuff about - have a phobia about - or are scared off .

I dont care for Alcohol - never have , the devils brew it is .

Smoking , truly evil ! The makers should be hung for murder !

Cars - 4 Wheeled weapon of choice for the mentally ill , alcoholics , and homicidal maniacs .

Id ride a bike too , actually used to well into my 20's [ push bike ] but replaced it with the motorized variety due to the number of homicidal maniacs driving cars .

Id like to get back on a push bike , every year around this time I go around looking at bikes , but you know what ! As I drive to the shops to look . my fellow car drivers scare the living shit out of me with there homicidal tendencies , and I think about Metal VS Flesh , and its no contest !

I havent even been on a motor bike for over 10 years cos of these ass holes ..

People cant drive , others are just wana bee killers .. And there is no way , im going out there in a push bike ..

Just this year I missed out on dying by one lousy second , I had the green light , I drove through the intersection and one second latter from my right [ driver side here ] I only just got to the other side of the center of the road , a car came screaming [ locked breaks ] through the intersection and passed behind me at nearly full speed [ 60kmh ] .. One second slower on my part , and I could have been dead , or worse crippled .

Almost every time I go out , I see people doing crazy stuff in cars .. I cant go for a drive and not see some nutter drive through a red light ! Almost every time I get in the car , short drive or long drive , I see people drive through red lights ..

It is so dangerous out there now , its almost a war zone !

Every time I go for a drive , If I were a cop , I could just about arrest some one for attempted murder ..... [ Vehicular Homicide ]

Melbourne has become a true shit hole for being out on the road !

And I hate driving a car now , I can go weeks without driving [ supermarket is 700 meters away down the road ] , so I walk . Even what was a quiet suburban Road , has become extremely dangerous , and Ive lost count of the number of times Ive almost been killed just walking . Pedestrians just about needs guns to defend themselves against the homicidal maniacs in there cars .

One idiot nearly collected me off the road doing an illegal turn - and speeding to boot and thought it funny . I went home , got in my car , and went looking for him !

If I had found him , id probably be in jail right now . [ And that FKN low life would have been the victim of pedestrian road rage - yeah Id be the bad guy ] Never mind the attempted murder on the drivers part . [ Yeah , I was to startled by the near miss to get the registration , maybe 5cm he missed me by - and that was only because I heard him come and I stopped walking , if I had continued , I would have flown through the air like a broken toy .

The car is the choice weapon for killers here in Oz :

I’m not willing to give up alcohol, but I don’t drink anywhere nearly as often as I talk or joke about drinking. Mostly just because I’m cheap.

You are told to do/not do numerous things which limit freedom, but you get used to them and readily accept them if the benefit to society (and yourself) of having such rules outweighs the cost of having to abide by them yourself.

Well, the main problem is people, not the tools they use.
No matter if you like it or not, but we all are responsible what is going on around you to bigger or lesser extent, it doesnt matter, we are the society, we are the ones, who create this world and make it into what it is, not politicians, not big corporations, its us, we give them this power, we allow them to do so.
The same goes for many murderers, reckless drivers, drug addicts and alcoholics, tobacco addicts - for the most part it comes from their family, from their parents or their friends, thats where they get their “education” from=from society, their family, friends, people around them are all responsible for whom is this person going to turn into when he/she grows up.
Social wellfare etc etc etc, its pretty simple.
One wise man once said - be the change you want to see in the world/around you.
It sounds like some wannabe hippie bollocks, but it aint, its really simple, its much simpler than what media, politicians and your lazy monkey inside of you will ever admit it is.

Well I, for one, am a smoker. I smoke a pipe and have for many years - 20 and counting. No, not the illegal varieties, but Captain Black, the occasional Cherry Blend, and several vanilla flavored blends.

The idea of hanging those that produce tobacco is complete BS! I'm sick and Effin tired of all the attacks on my other hobby. If I want to smoke, then it should be my right! If it kills me then fine - population control.

I understand that everyone is upset over the CT incident and that gun control now has such an uncertain future, but getting rid of Cars, Tobacco, and Alcohol isn't going to make the other issues go away.

Lighten the Eff Up and move onto something more constructive!

their are reasonable things and there are unreasonable, I dont smoke but if someone wants to so be it, who am I to tell them they cant inhale tobacco products? etc… same goes for many other things for instance in Australia they have their internet limited to what they can see or search
