Hi everyone, the GAW entry ended now. Thanks for all comments with actively.
Let congratulations these two friends! @horzuff@worrub918
And please the winners PM me. (Include your address and phone number) I will have my colleague send the giveaway to you immediately.
I just got the couple I ordered today and after some initial testing and setting the floor and ceiling of the stepped ramp I am very happy.
I really liked the SC13 with 519A that I have been using for the last several months. It has pretty much been on my hat all day every day since I got it. With a little DC fix to soften the beam it makes a great EDC headlamp for a hat guy.
Having the ability to fine tune the brightness levels should really help the run time. That is my biggest issue with my existing SC13, its easy to run the battery down in less than an average shift at work. If you make one with Anduril and a regulated buck driver I will upgrade again. You are getting really close to making the perfect low cost high feature flashlights.
Wondered if anyone had done a lumen test on their Pro? Having had a couple of the green 4000K and gifted them, I’m unable to compare, but I’d guess this isn’t putting out anywhere near the claimed lumens on high.
Having said that, and been scathing about the placing of the lanyard hole, not to mention the non-removable magnet, this little light with Anduril is pretty sweet.
I’m going to have to try a center punch on the magnet on one of these. Those magnets are brittle, and look to be a push fit.
So I took my SC13 PRO out for a night walk last night and my initial impressions are favourable. I have quite large hands so it can be a little awkward to hold comfortably when you’ve got it cranked up and it’s getting warm. Still, a very effective hand-warmer at this time of year!
For rural walks in the dark it gives me an almost perfect beam profile. Unless I’m trying to spot wildlife, the floody beam is what I need to navigate the path immediately in front of me.
Additionally, I tried briefly clipping the light to my cap and it seems to function quite well as a head torch. I’d still choose a dedicated head torch where possible, but in a pinch this thing can happily do the job.
I can’t perform any measurements of the product itself as I don’t have any tools, but I can say that a cell discharge test in my Liitokala charger yielded a result of 1075 mAh. I still prefer torches with a more useful cell capacity as I feel compelled to charge this thing after every outing.
Thanks again Sofirn for sending me this light for evaluation.
