SCENARIO: Apocalypse has befallen the earth, what do you do?

I want to start up one of these threads because quite frankly, if I don’t entertain myself I’m going to break something waiting for my package to arrive (8 days and counting).

Personally, I’m not very well prepared. Let’s have two scenarios, both will turn out badly for me. Let me tell you why.

Scenario 1: There’s a zombie apocalypse, and there’s no power.

- First thing I’d do is try to stock up on supplies, since I currently have pretty much nothing. I only have 10 18650s, and 2 14650s, none of my lights have candle light/moonlight modes except king possible (with the head twisty trick) so in about a week or so my lights will be gone. I do however have a 3D incan light similar to a maglight and an AA light. So if I don’t die on the way to my local supermarket, I’ll try to fight off zombies and other assorted desperados and take as many batteries, canned goods and toilet paper as possible. Probably some candles too.
Seeing as I live in Australia, I am basically weaponless, except for a small 25cm hunting knife I have which won’t be much help except if I am confronted by a child… _ So if anyone tries anything with me I’ll probably die.

Scenario 2: A massive solar flare sends out incredible EMPs (electromagnetic pulse) and wipes out everything electronic (PCBs, chips etc) in the world.

- My laptop and phone are dead - there goes my entertainment. My flashlights are dead - there goes my light. My microwave is dead - there goes my heated leftovers from the night before. So we’re left back in the stone ages. I don’t even have a solar panel but even if I did it wouldn’t even work. I guess I’d just be reading books until someone killed me and ate me for food. I really am helpless when it comes to these things.

I have a friend who has a farm that backs onto a national park. One road in and its dirt. He has solarpower, rain water, vege’s, plenty of animals to eat and weapons. If the world goes to shite thats where I will be heading.

I think I read somewhere the only batteries that would survive a polar shift or EMP would be alkaline batteries.

I think I would mostly try to use fire for light and keep batteries for emergency unless I was able to find a ton of them. I actually have over 100 AAs so thats a good start.

Everyone would be rushing to the supermarkets so by the time you get there, there will probably be nothing left.

I would probably get my brothers truck and load it up with animals from the petting zoo near here. Like llamas and sheep etc that are easy to keep confined in a large fenced yard.

In both scenarios I would start smoking again.

I’d Join Mad Max’s team. You need a prepper forum mate not a flashlight one

My friend has alpacas (llamas). Anyone know what they taste like?

From what I’m hearing I need to become good friends with edc, and very good friends with his friend….

No, like you I think I would be up s&#%ers creek. We have tank water on one acre, however only enough food to last a couple of weeks. No back-up power.
I’ve always thought about buying a back-up gen, storing heaps of water and canned food etc, but I also think if it goes that bad it will all come down to the gun.
You could have the best set-up in the street, but if you don’t have a means to protect and hold it, someone’s going to come along and take it by force.

People are being home raided for their wallets in Logan near by- imagine the helter skelter if the lights went out and it was everyone for himself?

I get chills thinking about it.

Might be better to stock boxes of Burbon…….

Actually they are alpacas here too, I think llamas are the big ones?

I haven’t eaten them but they sell it at restaurants here as well as kangaroo and crocodile (both of which I have eaten).

 LOL

umm, panic?

Haha janko

…Im sure it wont so I dont consider advantageous to think about it

There is a reason that people who have there sh1t together don’t tell others. It really pisses you off when your too lazy to take care of themselves FRIENDS just think their going to come live with/off of you, instead off getting off their butts and getting ready themselves.A real friend would be helping by bringing something to the table!Sorry for the rant, I know this is just for entertainment…but,

Yes! they taste just like lamas, only cuter. I’ve had both. A friend of mine used to live near an exotic meat store in Austin. Whenever I visited him, you only found out what the mystery meat was afterwards. BTW, yak is down right yummy. Lion is rather vile.

I've got an extra case of beer ...

If it bothers you so much then make up a lie and don’t accept them.
Honestly I’d be much more of a burden than a help in a time of crisis. Maybe I could help by gathering berries and stuff from people’s gardens?

Mil surp is your friend ! My soshine charger does a great job with 12 volt, I can hunt with my m91/30, I’d trust both my cz 52 and .454 SRH for protection/hunting.

It’s not terribly hard to protect from a basic EMP, just attach some beefy grounds to an old metal cabinet in your basement.

People who think you can survive with just a knife, that’s great and all but having at least a nice .22 is the bare minimum in my opinion.

You can stay at my place… I bet you would make a rather tasty chilli J)

I forgot to add that my friend is really into home brew too.

SOME SUN Slewflash.
SE Qld/Nthn NSW is the place to survive anything!

I seem clumsy to lot of people or something like that, but if some crisis occurs or if something needs to be done, I always deliver  I think I have the ability to thnk clearly in “panic” situations :o

But as I said, I totally dont believe in any kind of apocalypse (apart from floods, wildfires and earthquakes we are already having) - I have my own reasons.

But, if something like thats would occurr, some local catastrophic event (thats more real than apocalypse :o ), I would do whatever is necessary in a situation, haha, make the best out of it
Enormous amount of stress will be lost without cell phone and PC
