Hi all, new here. Stumbled in here looking for a new light to mount on my rifle scope. I know there are some other current threads on this topic but they don’t seem to be looking for quite the same thing as I am. Currently using a cheap 18650 zoom light I got from dealextreme years ago, its ok but I want something with more throw. I’d like something with 2-300 yards of throw. I like the style with the aspheric lens because most of the time all I want is the tight spot and long throw, but occasionally its nice to have a flood beam. It would be good to stick with an 18650 light, since I already have batteries and charger, and most of them should work with the mount I already have.
I’d be happy to spend up to $60-70 but less is better if possible.
The other alternative I’m considering is a scope mount spot light like this , although I am a little concerned with the size of it, being so big its likely to get knocked around, and I can’t seem to find any reviews for it, so I’d be taking a punt on it.
A Convoy C8 with an XPL-HI in it will throw that far, and have decent spill. They are around 25 dollars.
If it’s a high powered rifle like a .308 or something, you may have to get one modded to handle the recoil.
This big 30’ boat lift is 250 to 300 yds away.

Great throwers and the body tube should fit most flashlight holders
Oh nice!!
This one would throw better than the XM-L2
Or this one with mode option 2 (low, med, high with no strobe). This might be better for a hunting rifle.
cool cool…thanks!!!

Get a xpl hi and a 3 amp qlite driver to put in it.
Thanks for the responses. I decided to give the big spotlight a go, and I’m going to have a go at upgrading the driver and led in my current light.
