Scorpio AL06

This is a very good looking flashlight.

Square threads and double o-rings.

Nice!

Found it here, for those who'd ask :

Really nice looking, well built light. Doesn't say if it's HAIII but I'm guessing it is by the looks of it. Pretty sweet but if I was going to spend the money on another light of that size I think I'd go with an SF L2T I've been eyeing up. Sure is a great looking light, though. :)

Won't tail stand :(

And no mention of modes.

Looked at the product page again, it seems updated now with modes and everything.

Wow these are nice photos.

I wonder why the goofy tail switch that won't allow tailstanding. If they wanted the switch exposed like that then they could have easily used a ring tightened down between switch and body to accommodate a lanyard (e.g. X9).

This one also not bad. usd18.80 shipped. http://www.intl-outdoor.com/220-lumens-cree-q5-1x18650-x2-flashlight-p-118.html

Personally I'm not so keen on tail standing, since I mostly use my flashlights in wooded areas.

Purchased one.... Also trying out the 26650. Really a looker, like a slightly blander Sunwayman or Jetbeam (not a bad thingy, it still looks classy).

Impressive torture test! 35m 10 storey drops!

Where are you seeing the 26650 light?

I bought the JM05 and king kong brand 26650 cell. Will run a discharge test.

2100, the JM05 is a great looking light. Thanks for cashing in. I hope the machining is as good as it looks in the pics.

It's quite heavy for such a small light. If it really weights 198g, it's heavier than first version of Jetbeam RRT-2, which was loaded with lots of brass and stainless steel.

Not sure on which video of these above it was ...but in 2m:22s when the guy showed broken glass, did you noticed how badly deformed was the head ?

It shouldn't deform that much. Even from 35m drop. Either the alloy is really soft or head wall thickness is small.

I'm not a big fan of the hieroglyphics on the tail cap. What's up with that? I'm kind of surprised Shadow would do that. They seem to have better taste with the rest of their product. Otherwise I'm digging that light (mainly because of the 18650/26650 compatibility right out of the package.

Are we trusting this website? I have heard nothing about them.

Excellent, I was also curious about the king kong 26650.

They seem to be very new. I've noticed they add new products daily. Well not in the DX style, where they add flashlights, canned shrimps and dildos every day.

The Surefire 6PX dents just about the same amount (and with a broken LED) with just throwing it onto the ground. Sealed

With a 170g light (with battery), dropping 35m is not a joke. Let me get the amount of energy involved.

Velocity = 26m/s, energy = 58 joules. That's about an avg say 80kg guy pedalling at 15kph on a bicycle for 1 sec. Velocity of a pro baseball pitcher is ~ 40m/s.

But well, no dent, a couple thousands of Gs, not good for the electronics/switch. (washing machine is ~ 300Gs)

Quote from Surefire : "The 6PX Pro's high-efficiency LED-virtually immune to failure"

I've just looked at the videos. The toughness of that Scorpio is fantastic. The flashlight is dropped from 10th floor and and it doesn't dent or anything, very nice. Only the second time the flashlight dents and it's the same one as in the first test. Same flashlight series, 11F0000378.

Coolperl have you dropped a flashlight from 10th floor?
