Seeking LRB-168B or LRB-168A batteries

Hello,

I’m looking for some LRB-168B or LRB-168A batteries for a WOLF-EYES.

The old batteries has the printing “LRB-168B 1400mHA, 3,7V LI-ion” and “Copia Photo Tech Co, Ltd.
LRB-168A LI-ion Rechargeable Battery (3,7V)” when undressed.

I’ve found the following two options, but not much else:

Does anyone know of other options? The last two (original) replacement batteries I bought died rather quickly, so if possible I would like to try something else.

any good 18650 should do.who knows what the originals were.looks like a protected buttontop.
i run unprotected flat tops in my lights.

I thought so as well, but none of my 18650 batteries fit the battery tube. All of them are too thick.

Well, maybe you could try a 17650 instead, or even a 16650. Both of those exist and one of them may be what you need. Incidentally, are all your 18650’s protected? Did you try unprotected 18650’s?

Edit: Just did a quick search. The only place I found 17650 size was Amazon.com. 16650 is more common.

Edit 2: The cells you linked claim to have a diameter of 18.5mm. I found one protected cell on the Mountain Electronics website that is the same size. Samsung ICR18650-26F Protected 2600mAh If you can buy from them, I’d recommend it. Otherwise, you could at least search other websites for that same cell.

You could simply measure the batterysize with calipers or similiar, maybe it’s a16650 or so…

Are you using a Wolf-Eyes charger?

After some digging and measuring I found the problem… The battery I need is a 1400mAh 16650. Larger capacity wouldn’t hurt but it has to be the 16650 form factor (~17mm. diameter).
For some (idiotic) reason, Wolf-Eyes call all their batteries LRB-168 and apparently don’t want us to know what type it actually is. Guess they just want to make sure that customers don’t buy better batteries at 1/5 the price…

Yes, the model that accepts two batteries.

The CH-02? Not the best charger, has no proper termination.

It relies on the battery's protection circuit. Will kill unproteted batteries fast and prematurely age protected ones. "Output: 2 x DC 4.5V/800mA"

Good to know. Never use it for anything but the Wolf-Eyes batteries though (Nitecore D2 for all other batteries).

Protected 16650 turned out to be a rare catch.

I found this from GearBest http://www.gearbest.com/chargers-batteries/pp_174704.html and will report how it turns out.

I have tested them: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/36818

Nice review (as always), thanks!

The Keeppower 16650 was a success! Fits the battery tube with the same about of play as the original batteries.
