My experience with Superbuy was terrible.
First order was all fine, then suddenly Superbuy wanted a picture of my ID card (!) and complete address (!!) etc for “confirmation which is required by law” or something like that.
Just insane, I stopped using Superbuy because of this, and I also let them know.
China has the combination of (comparatively) cheap labor and advanced manufacturing capabilities that allows making small batches catering to the needs of a niche hobby.
No western company could be profitable while making a LED aimed at what flashlight enthusiasts want, Chinese companies can. Not because they are better, but because of the economical and social circumstances.
Yeah, asking for a picture of my ID card (and complete adress etc.) would be a MAJOR red flag for me!
I will place a small/low value first order to see how that goes, but as soon as things you mentioned start to pop up, it’s an immediate NO-GO for me to.
Yeah, but the chance they doing so is there. Maybe it is also different between different countries, who knows.
This is something you need to consider when using Superbuy. I can only advise against using Superbuy, but ultimately everyone has to decide for themselves whether placing an order is more important than privacy. (The most people are likely sending their ID and address because they want to order stuff, not caring about any privacy)
You can easily push this led to 80 amps and probably 15,000+ Lumens. At 3 volts though that’s a lot of heat that requires a big host. I read the reddit post and that’s awesome!
If you mean the SFY55… there are some news. I got one sample of this giant LED, so I was able to do a first test.
At 60 Amps this beast goes over 22000 Lumens! My PSU maxed out, the possible max current should be at around 80-100 Amps I assume, at around 28000-30000 Lumens, maybe even more.
The tint is ok, but nothing rosy. Low CRI as expected. Btw, this LED looks like a meme. The SFP55 with it’s whole package fits only onto the LES of the SFY55. Absurdly large and thus very difficult to use in any commercially available flashlight… but it’s insane and absolutely awesome
Dannnggg. Do you have a photo? It would be an awesome led to put in a fan cooled host, or maybe a BLF GT or a big thrower like the MF04. I doubt you’d get 60 amps out of the stock drivers thiugh, and you would need a 46950 or 46110 battery to run it.
