The optic slightly touch the XP-L HI LED when it’s fully pressed in, otherwise it should work fine.

Coming out of posting retirement for a moment to say this.

I’m going to be very blunt: I was probably more eager than most for the 1.12. Although I prefer reflectors to TIR’s, I was willing to give this a go.

The first 1.12 build I wanted costs $160(!) without usb charging and without the cool bezel the k9.3 has. The second build I wanted would be over $200, but since e21a’s are missing and most of the other emitters I was expecting aren’t viable, never mind, I guess.

If you had at least kept the cool bezel from the k9.3, I’d be tempted, but no… plain as can be.

I’m not sure what direction you’re going in anymore. I’ve bought somewhere around 10 of your lights in only a few months, but I haven’t bought any of the last two lights you released, and you’re increasingly out of stock or discontinuing things I want, like d4sv2 host colors.

I guess it’s not a big deal, and you’re saving me money by releasing stuff I don’t want, but it feels like the last couple lights you’ve shot yourself in the foot. Maybe that wasn’t avoidable, I don’t know.

You can make a $150 flashlight and if it’s good I’ll happily buy it. I love your flashlights. However, you cannot make a $150 flashlight that removes the better features from an earlier light and still get me to be happy about buying it.

So the 1.12 fails to impress on at least three levels for me: the TIR, the lack of emitter options, and the removal of the aesthetics and features of the k9.3. I should probably also mention that it really would benefit from the option of additional batteries. 26800 is great in theory but the 20A on the currently available 26800’s isn’t, not on a light like this.

The TIR isn’t that big of a deal; I realize many (most?) of your customers see the TIR as a plus. I will guess that the lack of emitter options was beyond your control. If so, that’s very unfortunate, both for you and for us. The lack of the k9.3 bezel and usb charging I’ll chalk up to it making the flashlight too expensive, but you maybe could have kept those by using only 8 or 10 floodlights instead of 12. This would also give room to trim the diameter of the head by flattening it a bit, and reduce the battery consumption while not significantly effecting the visible output.

And, not to mention, you would have sold more of these.

I sincerely hope your next efforts find some way of bring the magic back to your work. Thank you for the lights you’ve made for me. I greatly appreciate you and wish you the utmost success!

Possibly one of the most entitled posts I’ve ever seen here…and perhaps showing a lack of understanding of both electronics and manufacturing methods. We all have little gripes or wants about light models but that was unnecessarily critical of both the one mentioned and of the business itself maybe? Pass on by, get something else or wait for the next release, repeat. (It wouldn’t be terribly difficult to mod a bezel into the scalloped design of the K9.3 if you wanted to, assuming some basic skills and tooling and a little time spent…or perhaps with a positive approach the manufacturer could even release a batch of bezels just like this.)

Yeah, the preview images and name - DM1.12 - were a solid tell that it’s based on the same general chassis as the DM11 ergo expectations were reasonably set early on - flood channel LED selection was the main unknown.

May worth seeing how 1850K is in fact and how 1900K it may be in real use scenario, glass coating, current, die temperature, etc all affecting a bit the CCT and DUV.
I’d think these E17 would be with the same high R9 as the E21 while other offerings in this CCT range do have mediocre R9.

Are you able to check the CCT on the candle light on it’s lower flame portion? Maybe a big candle can have that part isolate better for the device? Or that is too narrow to isolate?
