Shadow 4th of July Giveaway

Thank YOU, once again. I learned a bunch of stuff I never knew trying to solve your riddle

There were four winners, all of whom RSVPd (so each was in all four drawings), but nobody won more than once. I’ve notified them and asked for their lot preferences. As a fun twist, none will know which lot they’re getting until they open the box

The answer to the riddle is stripes. Which was a hint for zebra because the mystery light is a Zebralight SC51. Had anyone gotten “stripes,” the Riddler would have given additional clues. I doubt Mr. Ed (the talking horse) really was a zebra but it’s a big enough urban legend so that if you google Mr. Ed it comes up on the first page of results. And the Riddler used it because he’s a devious slime-ball criminal psychopath!

Kudos to those who came up with other clever solutions to the riddle, and thanks to everyone who played! After all winners have accepted the terms I’ll announce who they are.

F&%k, that Zebra was my second choice :frowning:

So does no one win the mystery light? Congrats to everyone who won!

But Mr. Ed was not a Zebra.

The Snopes article on Mr. Ed says Status: FALSE

And this:

Edit: I should have read your post better instead of just skimming it like I did. My apologies.

No because nobody guessed Zebralight SC51.

Please read post #183.

Six people guessed a Zebralight.

Why was the mystery light a SC51? Just because?

D’oh - as always, the answer looks obvious once you know it!

Thanks for running a fun competition!

How many guessed Zebralight SC51? ZERO. How about reading the rules, specifically rule #4, “…guess what the mystery light is, brand and exact model.”
Why the SC51? Because that’s what I had to give away.
Do you have a problem with that?

Hooo, why I switched to Fenix instead of Zebra  Sounded to obvious maybe?

I realize that no one guessed the SC51. I did read the rules, especially rule #4. I think that it is awesome that you are giving away flashlights. I don't have a problem with your very generous giveaways. I think the SC51 is a great flashlight.

I just thought that the Mystery Light Clue would somehow lead to the make and model of the Mystery Light. I was wrong and I apologize if I offended anyone.

Thank you for the fun we have with your riddle. Hope you will do another one in the future

As I wrote in post #183, “Had anyone gotten “stripes,” the Riddler would have given additional clues.”
I was trying to avoid a repeat of the first Zebralight contest where cainn24 won in less than 24 hours.
But nobody got the riddle and nobody guessed SC51.
Note to self: no more mystery lights.

Awesome awesome, thanks for doing a giveaway Shadow. It was lurking on your sc600 giveaway thread that convinced my too finally sign up here at BLF. Great bunch of Flashaholics
Thanks Shadow.

Also I appreciate the trivia in your giveaway, even though my sticky situations guess was way off

Kendall

Wow,I was way off on the mystery light,ed-it e5,my logic was ed=mr.ed,i for the stick of gum,t=symbol of the cross for a priest and e5 is the rank of sergeant in the army.I feel dumb now I've seen the solution,oh well!

Not as far off as my uranusfire guess. :p

scaru, it was one of your threads the led me to guess a DRY.

What do an army sergeant, a talking horse, a stick of gum, and a priest have in common? The letters T, S, and A.

What's that spell? TSA.

What did the TSA mess around with? scaru's DRY.

I forgot to even make a guess

I was thinking July 15th for some reason. I never would have come up with stripes. These riddles are getting progressively more difficult, which makes it that much more fun

Thanks again for the fun contest! Congrats to the winners!

That’s why the priest was sticky :0
