I’m not sure what RSVPd stands for but if it’s about the pre giveaway thread I was part of it so I guess I’m in it (or to stupid to understand the system - yes, I read the rules but right now I don’t fully “get it”, I think it’s time for a coffee…).
My flashoholism bases on being independent with a light of my own. Independent in the sense of don’t need any external help (sun or turned on manmade light systems) to see in the dark pretty much whenever I want. I think most people simply cannot respect that fact enough. I do.
Mystery guess - UFT50 but to be honest I assume it’s going to be some military style strap on 90 degree angle light. I don’t know how they are called so I just go with the UF.
PS: My preferred one is the TK, had my eyes on that one since the day it came out and I think It might suit me better then my current EDC, an X10.
I like flashlights because I like useful gear. I like to be prepared for unexpected situations and because of these I started getting lights and multitools. With time, I grow a small collection and fell in love with them. Nowadays, my love for leds, batteries and knives is irrational.
My order of preference is 3, 2, 4, 1.

I have exercised my one allowed change of answer in my post (#55) from an “S-mini” to the “Trustfire ST-50” since upon further look at the riddle showed my that all the riddle components have both an S and a T in common instead of just an S.
My logic-
Sergeant is called “Sir”
Talking horse= MR. Ed
Stick of gum= Dentyne
Priest= “Father”
These letters can be used to spell Fandy Fire. (use the F twice.)
That was my best guess.
I like flashlights because I enjoy emitting large amounts of photons from a handheld device.

My guess for the mystery light is the Ultrafire headlamp, the one with the magnetic tail.

Ever since I had an Eveready guard light when I was kid I have liked my torches. Its amazing to see the progress from incandesants that you were lucky if they lit up across the room to what we have now. The thing is these days everyone takes for granted that power will be there to light the streetlights and light their homes and no one takes resposibility for their or others safety, but we do. We usually are prepared because we are fanatics, we have a torch on us or within a few feet 24hrs a day and it usually has a backup and spare batteries too.

I love flashlights because they are useful little things that keep the dark away. Many other reasons as well, but rules say be short.
