Aks the seller (Hank?) if he can sell you a new bezel
No way, lol. I butterfingered it even with the ring on it, my fingers just stopped working for a split second…although it wouldn’t hurt to ask, I don’t believe I should ask an upstanding member to take a loss for my mistake.
Hank will help you out for sure…but, you have the beginnings of the history of a light you’re using as intended. I’d keep it like that I think.
He wouldn’t be taking a hit if he has them in stock and sells you a new one with his typical profit margin built in. So… no loss involved, yes?
Sorry you dropped it. I have done similar things where the fingers just seem to forget what they are supposed to be doing.
Nice to see a few marks on a light that proves it’s been used!
That said, a long while back, I took my week-old Overready 6P (bored to take 18650s etc) on a walk outside and I did similar to you… now have a dent on the tailcap to remind me to use a lanyard ![]()
Agreed on all counts…but I do have a black ss bezel if i ever decide to switch it, lol…
We’re all getting old and decrepit, lol…I’ll toy with the idea of adding a couple bezels to the cart when the kr1aa comes out.
Eesh! Unfortunately, a lanyard wouldn’t have helped, as I still managed to drop it with my finger in the olink..
!@#$ happens. I managed to drop my brand new green Sofirn SP31V3 on the floor results in the same ding because the clip got caught in my bag strap. Felt like shit for a day, then decided to put the bezel on a drill and sand the front end down until the ding disappears and it becomes a shinny silver color. It looks really good for a couple of days, then it started accumulating scratches. Apparently bare aluminum is way too soft for this kind of job.
It’s almost been a year since I had it and I already forgot about scratches, dings and what not. It still provides same utility so I’m still happy using it everyday.
