I was thinking about the different lights I have and the different manufactures that make them. I started thinking about which brand of the ones I own were the best quality overall. Not judging from what others say but from my own personal experience. I know I don't own all the brands but I do have some brands that are considered fairly good quality brands. No I don't have any Surefire lights. But I do have these.
Fenix
Quark
Klarus
Olight
Jetbeam
iTP
Zebralight
Shiningbeam
I do have others that I don't include because they are not generally considered quality brands. That doesn't mean they are not quality lights or the company doesn't make quality lights. Case in point. I consider my Ultrafire UF-H3 a quality light
Of the ones listed above, I would have to say from the lights I have experience with, I would put Shiningbeam right at the top. I'm not talking about all the lights that Shiningbeam sells, I'm talking about the lights that have the Siningbeam lable on.
I have these.
Blaze, Caveman, S-mini.
Others I don't own that have the Shiningbeam lable are: I-mini, C-mini and the Shiningbeam Spark.
Anyone out there that has or does own any of these lights? Have any of you had any problem with any of these? If so, what was the problem?
I have kept the Shiningbeam as a brand a bit oddball.
Not too many "bangers" for it but every now and then I read about them and if I try to sum it up, they seem to be largely positive feedback. A majority is good feedback.
Still don´t know, why haven´t purchased any of them
Still don´t know, why I have HAD only 1 Fenix, 1 iTP, 1 Preon and that´s it concerning Your quality lights owned -list... :|
Maybe I should proceed to next level. At least I have a Zebra and some Solarforces ...
I have never heard anything but positives on Shiningbeam brand. I'm not sure if the P-Rocket qualifies, as it has 'Knight Rider' stamped on the flashlight, but nothing actually said about that on the SB site and I always assumed it was a Shiningbeam brand. In cycling circles, the S-Mini and P-Rocket are both highly recommended.
Chidwack - I think this thread is worth linking to from the Shiningbeam Budget Dealer Review. Info on the SB brand is certainly relevant to a review on the SB site. Would you mind adding your comments over there?
The Pocket Rocket and X Thrower are both sold by Shiningbeam. I know they get good reviews but they don't have Shiningbeam on the label. I was mainly talking about Shiningbeam's branded lights.
As far as i know(after a fair amount of looking around), shiningbeam is the only site that sells the P-rocket and x-thrower. I didn't email him about it, but i would guess that these are lights he requested be specially made, prior to him starting his shiningbeam line.
I think that probably someone else sells them because I have seen the same lights with a different label on it. Chinese writing and a little horse on the side but the same light.
I have a p-rocket. I use it for my mountain bike. It's the woodland camo one. It's not really super quality for the price as I've found only after buying it that the regulation blows. I do have a caveman on the way. Never the less, Bryan from shiningbeam is a decent seller. He told me that he probably isn't going to do any more shiningbeam models as they're too costly to produce and yield little in returns.
I wouldnt consider 4sevens to be quality. At their price point you are getting garbage for a light. Why they did away with 18650 capacity, is anyone's guess. I dunno why flashaholics continue to support them.
100% Agree. I paid for the quark 123^2 (still a very good light but not worth what paid). The Quark AA I returned back because of the issues . A month later I got email from were I had bought it, they said they would send me back the light free of charge. It was a very nice gesture.
Love the light, but yeah, found regulation to be poor. If you notice the light isn't nearly as bright as it first is using a freshly topped off 18650. Then I had a look at this review
After looking at the review for the caveman. Regulation appears to be stellar. My light will be here tomorrow.
