Hi all!
I just ordered the above light from Amazon. I wanted a cheap P60 that takes 2Xcr123 OR an 18650, and most of the ultra cheap P60s are Ultrafire WF502B that only run 1x18650. I wanted a CHEAP 2xCR123 light as I’m more comfortable leaving them in the car for years, and giving as gifts. Some of the folks I want to gift lights to can’t handle rechargeables. I’ve not been able to find a cheap P60 light (or even drop in) that takes multiple battery types. I’ve used the solarforce wide range drop ins, but, they’re not as low cost.
Searching, I found this SKYSTED brand I’d never heard of. I ordered the blue one. It qualified for Amazon Prime free shipping, and arrived in 2 days. Nice shipping price and time compared to some of the lights shipped from overseas
1) Body - looks VERY similar, but not identical, to my older black ultrafire wf-502b, threads are the same and parts are interchangeable. Some minor differences, e.g. the end of the head, the Skytest is just a hair longer than the ultrafire, the scalloped ends are just a tiny big bigger. The Skysted rubber switch extends just a tiny bit more than the ultrafire, making it easier to tail stand the ultrafire. Machine quality is a match, if anything the Skysted threads are smoother than the ultrafire.
2) Tailcap - new skysted tailcap has a spring to make battery contract, my older ultrafire has a solid metal piece that contacts the battery, it moves up and down, spring is not visible.
3) Skysted P60 module = Ultrafire XM-L 3v to 18V, seems as bright to the naked eye as my solarforce P60 modules, so, pretty standard. This is a big advantage for me over most ultrafire 502b out there that are only 18650.
4) single mode
For $14 for both the light and drop in, as a 2x CR123 light to leave in the car, this light meets my needs.
