Hey everyone. I’m looking for a small light that can be clipped on a baseball cap. I need it to be 1000 plus lumens be a warm tint with a fairly high cri. I have been looking but all I find is cool or neutral white is that the best I can find.I’m giving it to my son for night fishing. I was looking at the new lumintop fwaa that’s on the BLF front page now but it’s cool white or neutral white.Anyone have any ideas thanks
FWAA is available down to 3000k. So warm white is there!
How small do you need?
On paper, I like the FW3A more than the FWAA, but I don't really care for 14500 flashlights.

youre correct, the FWAA is not available in Warm White
it is only available in 4000k 219c, and they dont specify it is high CRI, so probably it is NOT High CRI…
I say that because Lumintop was misleading when they offered the 2020 RRT-01 with Nichia, they also did not specify the CRI. That LED turned out to be Low CRI 4000k…
Lots of people assumed because it is a Nichia, that it is High CRI… this is NOT correct.
some of the sofirn lights come in high CRI… good luck with your search for a warm one that meets your 1000 lumens goal. imo 1000 lumens is not realistic… but maybe someone can point out a light that can maintain that output.
I dont consider a 1000 lumen light to be small enough, nor light weight enough to clip to the brim of a hat… I suggest you look at some of the right angle headlamps from Zebralight and Manker.
Why 1000 lumens?
My son said he wants it bright over 1000 lumens. I just purchased a Olight baton 3 I think it is 6000k cool white. Mateminco has some warm tint but too big for a cap light. Told him to get a headlight but he doesn’t want that. So I’ll keep looking. Thanks for advise.
On Nealsgadgets also 3000k 219c is listed. Thats what I (per)ordered.
I just messaged lumintop and was told the 4000k is 90CRI
thanks for the education, you are correct, and I was mistaken (I only looked at the lumintop site)
I hope you enjoy your new light

glad to hear that
I hope that is true. I will wait until there is independent confirmation.
fwiw, the Lumintop pocket clip would aim the light backwards if installed on a hat brim, unless you make a hole in the bill to push the clip through, so the beam faces forward:
1000 lumens will require too much battery to fit on a hat.
FW3A is almost small enough but i think it is too heavy, and cannot really do 1000 lumens over a minute or so due to thermal reasons.
Even if the thermal stuff did not matter, 1 18650 would not run over say 20 mins at 1000 lumens.
Making thermal limits better, would need more metal for heat sinking.
Making the battery last longer, would take 2 cells or 21700 cells.
what you need is a head lamp and a 4 18650 cell pack
like a bike light
there are bike lights for $35 on amazon that can do what you want, that even come with head mounts
but he doesnt; want that
oh well
> I need it to be 1000 plus lumens be a warm tint with a fairly high cri.
here is a way to search for 1000 lumens of high cri
I dont know how to search for Warm…
good luck!
The new fwaa has 2 way clip
it would also help if you could not require ‘warm’ or “high CRI’
it is nice, but uncommon and imho unnecessary
wle

thanks for the education, you are correct
I hope your son enjoys the light

Correct but I think Jetbeam is to blame for the rrt01 Nichia having low cri, it’s their product.

thanks, youre right, Lumintop and Jetbeam are not the same company, and the RRT-01 and the FWAA are not the same light
I may be overreacting… once bitten, twice warned
I have no evidence either way, whether the FWAA uses High CRI nichias or not… there is nothing I have found in their ad copy, that says High CRI…
I hope someone will post a test to confirm that LED is in fact High CRI… and I hope it is.
Can anyone tell me how to use code
first add the light to your cart, then when you reach the Checkout screen, enter the code
No harm in doing research, I feel a little betrayed by Jetbeam, over half the companies selling the rrt01 have it listed as hi cri. Yet Jetbeams made no effort to correct them or reviewers that got samples
