Is it worth modding the small sun ZY-T10-S? What kind of improvements could I expect to see? I like the function this light a lot, it’s just not bright enough. How do I go about having someone mod it for me? Thanks in advance -Maxx

There probably isn’t a whole lot you can do with it. You might try a driver swap. Measure the driver first and let us know how many millimeters it is. Then you can look at the led and tell us what is going on there. How big is the star that the led is sitting on and under that is it hollow or is the star sitting on aluminum? If the star is sitting on aluminum and the driver isn’t to odd of a size you might be able to make something out of it. However, generally speaking zoomies are just not that great for making projects out of. For what you put into it you would likely be better off starting over from scratch.
I guess what I would do if I wanted to fart around and have fun modding it and It had a solid pill (the part the star sits on) I would buy a driver that is around 2.5 amps and put that in then swap the led out for a XP-G2 that I de-domed by soaking in gas. At least then you would have a light that would be brighter with a better tint and it would really throw when zoomed out. However, if the pill is hollow and the star is sitting on thin air then I wouldn’t bother with it and just live with it for what it is. Why? Because if the pill is hollow you will never get good enough heat sinking to run the led with a lot of amps. It will quickly overheat and your amps will produce more heat than light.

I guess this little guy is worth modding. It’s the only zoomie they’ll touch. They say 90% improvement. Does the inverse square apply here?
