I just got a zy-t620 and it’s different than the one i ordered from manafont a few months ago. The older one has a really cool turn on in high then ramping driver. the more recent t620 has a H-M-L-str-sos with next mode memory, really annoying,
My goal is to mod this driver with the usual trimpot and to get high only regulated or High-Med-low, turn on in high mode no memory. Any help with how to do this would be greatly appreciated.
in this photo i have already removed one of the sense resistors, since i am shooting for 1.5 amps. just need to get rid of the next mode memory and blinky if I can
With some drivers it is possible to disable the next-mode memory by adding a 1M resistor in parallel with a capacitor. Search the forum for "next mode" and "resistor" for examples and the method to test it before adding the resistor. Too low a value resistor can eliminate the lower power modes - it did in my SK68 clone. So if you are willing to sacrifice the other modes to get rid of the blinky ones, that may be an option.
Also, it might help others to comment if you can provided a higher resolution pic of that driver.
This thread here has some photos and good discussion of some of the side effects. I don't know of any continuously variable ramping drivers other than the ones that come in some lights with control rings, such as the Sunwayman lights. Are you willing to program your own driver?
