I emailed Bill at doingoutdoor. I asked him if he offers bulk discounts.
He said yes, so I asked for his best price for 7 pairs of Keeppower protected 3400 18650’s.
He sold them to me for $20.50 a pair with plastic battery box, free shipping, I got them in exactly 10 days.
As RDR pointed out, I believe these and the Orbtronics are among the best 3400 Panasonic based cells out there.
But all the guys that I found who sell the Orbs are asking too much.
If you buy more than I did, maybe Bill might cut you a better deal.
Lastly, I like the Keeppower 3400’s length, which I measured at 68.76mm using my digital caliper.
They are actually a hair shorter than my protected NiteCore 2600 18650’s which was measured at 68.94mm.
The Keeppower’s fit in every 18650 light and charger I have without any tightness problems.
Fasttech Panasonic 3100mah for me and some of those wallbuys Christmas sale 2600mah sanyo Xtar’s. I really like the sanyos in my high current draw lights they give more current than the pana’s from a tail cap measurement.
good thread, as im currently looking for some new 18650’s but i need some longer ones like my xtar 2600’s
of all these mentioned, which one’s are the longest in length, but it needs to be protected.
are should i just get xtars again?
oh, just went on ft’s site, nice they have all the measurements here. but i needa find out how long my xtars are since ft dont carrry them
Looks like its a panasonic cell. You only get 2660mah before it drops below 3v according to their own graph. Thats why I want to try some more samsung cells, if you look at the graph led4power posted, the samsung voltage stays up for much more of its capacity, keeping you within regulation for longer.
Also dont forget most drivers low voltage warning is at 3v.
I got protected 18650 2800mah Sanyo batteries hoping they can take waiting charged at 4.2V better than 2600mah ones but retaining the 2600 capacity.
I got them fro fasttech, but next time I’ll check bestvaping.
I just ordered 2 sets of these myself. Shipped yesterday and should arive next week. Lately I have been using EagleTac 3100 and 3400s that I picked up from GoingGear. Only problem I have had is in my new NiteCore EC25. This light needs a fairly longer button and these batteries are close to being flst tops. Some work in this light and some do not make contact.
