So what do you do with all the lights that you've bought?

Hi there. In the last 2-3 years I have bought maybe 70-75 flashlights
I was just wondering what other folks do with all the lights they’ve bought. Right now I have with me (at last count) 15 of them.

The rest? Well…. I’ve sold off around 10 lights and given the rest away to friends/family/relatives.
(These don’t include the lights I bought as presents, in the first place).
I know some of you have over a 100 lights in your collection, but what about the rest of you?

I put them in every room , vehicle , outbuilding , one by each door ....

I am never far from a flashlight .

i need to pick up a dozen or so cheap p60s to store all over. most of mine when not in use are on the shelf

Wow!! I don’t have so many. But I still have some to give away…

Well, we had a couple of guys from Lowes in our house yesterday, installing a dishwasher, and I happen to have 7 of my lights in that corner of the kitchen counter, and the guys kind of looked at me kind of funny and said, “Boy, you have a lot of flashlights”. I didn’t say anything, because they didn’t see the other 20+ lights that I had on the credenza that they walked past when they came into the house…

Made me kind of think about it though :)!!

What jack said. Stash em in bags/kits too.

I keep my number less than 10 pieces. so I constantly sold the one that I least favor after some time of usage when I decide to buy new light
my bigger lights stay on the working desk ready to use any moment. small lights is in the bag for carryinh around…

I rotate the lights I put into my bag every now and then. Other than that they are all on my desk or drawer.

Sometimes I pretend there’s blackout and just use my lights

Unless I have or plan to mod them, they will be if not already gifted or sold. To me keeping stock torches defeats this hobby.

I EDC my LD01 on keychain, put zoomies in all 5 vehicles, put E01 on wifies keychain, keep SRK & ZY-T13 by front door for critter spottin’, small no-name xml by my 9mm, 3 SKs by my bedside and others disbursed throughout the house.

Living on a farm they come in very handy. I have 3 gun mounted lights (2 Solarforces and a Crelant) a coule of searchlights and then just a few EDC/pocketable lights for when I can’t be bothered using the bigguns

Most just sit on the shelf and don’t get used much if at all. I usually keep 4 or 5 out where I can get to them quickly. Mostly my newer lights get used the most. I have found that once I have a new light, they go to the front of the line until I find something I like better or if I find things I don’t like about the light. I’m also finding that major throw is becoming less important and flood more important. Smaller lights and lights that have good throw and spill get used the most.

All over the place. By all doors, bed, utility area, shed, cars, and in a bag semi hidden from my wife.

I do exactly the same: Rotation, desk AND blackout.
Well, the blackout is every night…

That’s approximately one-quarter of your collection, right?

There have been a few added.

I have most of mine stored away in cases and boxes. The rest are scattered about the house or on my person.

At least two in every bedroom, several in kitchen and family room draws, 2 or 3 each in my wife’s car, same for my son’s car, 5 in my car, at least one in each laptop bag and briefcase, 4 or 5 in the garage, 3 or so on my person and at least 15 here in my office.
I’m sure I’m missing a few but I’ll bump into them eventually.

It’s funny, when I need a flashlight I have to stop a moment and decide which one to use. Doesn’t seem to matter where I am or what I’m doing I have to stop and thing about it. So many to choose from at any given time.

I’m not sure if that’s something I should be worried about.

i wish i only have 5 flashlights… it’s a lot easier to choose than to think which light should i use tonight?
but for me?.. mostly i put it on the shelf on top of my computer desk, every now and then i just reach one and shine it to the wall for the fun of it
