In relation to the newly released Sofirn HS45
Plenty of you must have be wondering about the couple of aspects ot this headtorch/angle light.
Please find attached most boring video that might provide you with some answers.
In b4:
Sound measuring app was not calibrated, it’s just for rough presentation of the decibels.
Ticking sound is the is just thermal camera shutter. (for thermal sensor calibration)
Sound of the flashlight fan seems very similar to the fan I had on 486DX2 processor back in the 90’s. But slightly quieter.
Please excuse me for the vape and the noise I made while making it.
It’s too loud once it’s spinning full speed IMO. When I move my head around it whines. Edit: turns out my fan failed after 5 hours testing the runtime. The fan should be slower and set to sustain 900 - 1000 lumens instead of 1350. I’d like to be able to change it to a fan disabled mode with a lower sustained output.
The fan starts slower, but it’s not temp controlled, seems to be the bearing grease thinning out as it heats up.
The fan wires are just hot glued for waterproofing, it’s also not user replaceable without disassembly.
