Sofirn SP31V2.0 with 18350: Does buck driver make a difference?

I’m a long time lurker to the forums, but I have a question and created an account to join the discussions.

I have several flashlights including a Sofirn SP31V2 with the XPL-HI V3 emitter. I searched the forums and read all the reviews that I can find about this light, and about running 18350 batteries in 18650 flashlights. I just installed an 18350 short tube and a KeepPower 1200 mAh cell in this SP31V2, and for a number of reasons, I really like this setup.

As I understand it, this flashlight has a constant current driver, and I’m wondering if this lends itself in anyway to being more efficient when using these lower capacity batteries. Can I expect to have similar linear (flat-graph) light output albeit with shorter durations? Is that the only significance?

Thanks in advance!
