SOFIRN ST10 Year of the Horse Edition – Need Your Input!

Hey guys!

As some of you may remember, we’ve been working on a special Year of the Horse edition for the ST10. We’re excited to share that we now have three design concepts ready — but we need your help to decide which direction to go!

As per our previous discussion, the emitter configuration will stay unchanged:

• Main LED: SFT25R
• Side LED (one of them): 519A 4000K/5000K

Style 1: Horse pattern with Chinese character and auspicious clouds（P1, P2）

Style 2: Auspicious clouds only (P3, P4)

Style 3: Solid color, no pattern (P5, P6)

Current samples: P7

Here’s where we need your feedback:

1. Which design option are you vibing with the most?
2. Side emitter temp – 4000K or 5000K?
3. The current samples have three machined grooves on the body. Should we keep them, or go with a smooth surface like in the render?

Ad.1. Style 3 (does not really matter)
Ad.2. 4000K (that matters!)
Ad.1. Grooves are good for grip (but not essential)

Please fix the Red UI! (even more important than colour temperature!)

Style 2, P3 is surprisingly nice only if it has a smooth surface.

Style 3, P5 and P6 are safe bets and can be either grooves or smooth surface.

Emitter can be either 4000K or 5000K so long as the side emitter is high CRI for close inspection purposes.

these are the options I like

P2, Red and Gold with Horse and clouds, smooth body.

Main LED for throwing: Luminus SFT-25R

Side LED for flooding: Nicha 519A 4000K

Side LED: 660nm red light

I don’t have an ST10 and wouldn’t buy a commemorative edition, but I would def buy a regular one if you had the 519a/SFT25R combo. Best flood emitter + best spot emitter would make this a no brainer if somehow it’s still just $22.

My preference for the options shown would be blue with grooves, but the emitter is really the thing that would get me to buy.

I would buy the commemorative one, but the lacklustre emitters are what stopped me buying the regular ST10.

Oh yes, this Red UI makes me crazy - every time when I want turn off light it changes mode

Turning RED on with hold is ok, then it should be changed as white ones - only by holding button - not clicking.

As an east european that never visited China, the red and gold theme is the easiest to associate with China but it might also feel too… common, might feel a bit too forced. The blue one with the horse looks more attractive, it does not yell, but the theme is there, it has taste.
