This happened to me too! I suspected this might occur with other early units. Barry assured me in messages that they had dealt with this in later production runs, so hopefully this doesn’t keep popping up.
Essentially, I found that the ratcheting mechanism had loosened within the light, as it was held down with two small screws that were unscrewed by the vibrations.

So far the threadlocker has held firm and my light still ratchets satisfyingly!
