So most of the newer construction equipment has multiple computers for different systems and these computer constantly require power and will eventually completely drain the 12 volt battery if you don’t start them occasionally, living in Minnesota when it gets cold it can ruin the battery. So we thought we could try a solar powered battery tender maintainer the one I have listed below would be perfect we could set it in the cab facing the sun, plug it into the cigarette lighter lock the door and forget about it there isn’t any additional wiring needed.
Wondering if anyone has tried something similar and what size solar panel you would recommend? The battery in the equipment is 900 CCA, would be fully charged when parked and may sit for months between starts.
Thanks
Paul
Something like 0,01C, or about 5-10W would be better.
Thanks
