So, I have a bunch of Solarforce L2Ps…Four black ones and one each of sand, grey and blue. They were all pretty much identical, or so I thought, until I noticed the tailcap boot on the blue L2P was a different pattern than the others…It’s got a few lines above/below ‘Solarforce’ text in the middle of the boot, and it appears the boot is also 16mm instead of 14mm, like the other L2P tailcaps I have. Has anyone seen this before?
I have seen that also. I have a black L2P with a 14 mm boot and a grey L2P with a 16 mm boot.
I’m guessing that it is a design change. I have two L2ms that have the small boot, but when I bought a replacement tail cap it came with the 16 mm boot.
the solarforce should come with a foy filter, to call foy when something arises out of the norm
im sure some one else here can come up with a good pic for what im picturing
Foy may have mentioned it in one of his reviews. I think it might just be what the newer lights come with.
16mm tailcap boots were the older original design for the L2P. Newer ones have 14mm boots to match the L2.
I’m glad I have the older L2P as well as the newer. The older L2P’s tailcap boot sits lower and tailstands better.
These two L2Ps were both ordered within the last two months but came with different switch boots.
I’ve never seen a Solarforce branded tailcap before.
Got solarforce branded boot on all my 2012 L2M (3) and with my L2N
My blue L2p has a branded 16mm boot, too.
Maybe the limited versions of the L2p has them (blue, gold, grey) and only the new produced black L2p have the 14mm.
My grey and gold ones have 14mm boots. Strange.
