I just recieved a 3 mode SF XML2 drop-in and have found that it has next mode memory! It dosen’t matter how long I wait it always starts on the next mode.I am hopeing that it is just a defective driver and this is not normal, all of my other SF drop-ins have memory.Does anyone else have this drop-in yet and can veryify that mine is defective?I haven’t been having very good luck with Solarforce products lately.
Wow, 38 reads and no responses :quest: Well anyways, I just got a response from the seller and all of the stock that they tested acted the same way.I have no idea why SolarForce would install a next mode memory on this drop-in, but they did.Oh well, I already have some 105c’s on they way.On a good note the XML2 they used does have a decent slighly cool tint and I do like the flood from the light OP reflector. It should do well at 2.8 amps. The original drive current was only 2 amps.-Rick
I’ve always bought Solarforce ‘directly’ from solarforceflashlight-sales. Only one problem, a missing item, was immediately resolved by JO. My last purchase October 2012 included two XM-L U2 3-mode drop-ins . Both work properly.
Can you tell us where you bought yours, and how they treated the problem?
Bought mine directly from Solarforce and my XM-L2 U2 3-mode is a last mode memory as it should be…
Hope you got this resolved… Did you swap in the new driver?
I don’t have any three mode drop-ins from Solarforce but all the 5 mode ones that I have work as they should. I always buy Solarforce bits direct and the one time I did have a problem a quick email and reply solved it.
i have SF drop in 3 modes and always memorized last mode
