LED: Nichia 219C D240 on 16mm Noctigon - 90+ CRI 4000K from MTN Electronics
Driver: Convoy 7135x6 driver with New Firmware
Same reflector and throw as the Convoy S2, so more throw than the S2+ and S3. I chose the S8 over the S2 as it has deep fins that help disperse heat and cool down the light when driven at higher currents.
Light was built by blf member Gunga who is very experience light builder, so soldering work is top notch.
Specifically built with 6x7135 so that it can run on high without overheating.
Approximately 600 LED lumens. Produces powerful spot with a nice spill for all around use. Can be used with DC Fix tape to create a more even transition from spot to spill for up close use. Convoy driver doesn’t handle very low output modes very well. If you want this light for moonlight modes, either look elsewhere or change the driver.
