Up for sale is a 1D (made for a 26650 or 18650), Aspheric Maglite.

It's a custom cut down from 2D to 1D. The bezel is SS. The lens came from?? I don't remember, it's been a long time in storage. The XM-L2 is a U2 1A, so it's cool white to blue white at the edges. The mcpcb is a 32mm Copper Maxtoch. The driver is the custom one I now use for all my Maglites. It has the DrJones program and 14x7135 chips. The switch is a momentary SMD. The tail cap is polished and so are the two rings on the body. It comes with sleeves for 26650 and 18650.

I get 4.65 amps on start up and about 4.55 amps after 30 seconds. That's with my Sony 26650.

I use nothing but unprotected cells. I do have a protected length dummy cell. It will fit, but the spring compresses a lot, so with a protected cell, it might leave a dent in the battery negative side. Just FYI.

How do you like it as a thrower?

I have never liked the square die look of an aspheric, but I have always found that the aspherics will throw farther and produce a brighter, more intense spot that any reflector light I have ever done. The sign in the last photo, at the end of the pond is bright as hell, where it usually isn’t with a reflector based light.
