The name Sanrenmu is not mentioned/visible but to me it is obvious. And I’ve never seen any fakes of these models.
I don't see any SRM etching on the blade, plus the seller only mentioned stainless steel blade (no composition).
I doubt this is the real deal.
But feel free to try for the adventurous souls :)
I’ve looked through almost any listing of cheap chinese knives I could find (dx like stores, alix, ebay) and I’ve never seen any copy of the PR-708 or the F9-707 and the other SRM models listed in this offer.
I’m pretty sure it’s the real deal, to me it looks like this is some old stock from a webshop like focalprice and the seller has no clue what he’s selling.
He does know that they are “health friendly” knives however.
No negatives or neutral feedbacks on knives sold by seller - so at worst these should still be decent knives. Health friendly as well, nice. :D
The worst you could do would be to get a reasonably acceptable knife. And if lucky you get SRM at 40% discount. It's probably worth a shot.
Ordered on to see, how they look like…
It is interesting as the first one showed (F1-723 I believe) is one of my favorite knives. I don’t need more or I would order one as well.
I took a gamble on the the 707 one. I hope it compares well with my CRKT drifter.
I took the plunge, and it arrived this morning.
I know nothing about knives, but it has a black blade, with 723, a sort of “V” R logo, and some Chinese characters etched on it. Looks identical to the SMR F1723 images on Exduct, so I guess it’s a bargain. Thanks to OP for this. Nice size.
Arrived in sealed greyish bluish stiff polythene bag - don’t know if that’s significant.
The etching description sounds about right for an SRM. Nice catch!
I really hope SRM won't get copied. Chances are the copies will be priced nearly about the same as originals - and we'd be hard pressed to pick which is the real deal.
As for other makers, not too big a problem, price difference will be too obvious. Just bought a Benchmade for $3.50. At least I know it's NOT one
Got mine today. Looks right to me. The camo coating was a bit sloppy on the inside part of the knife handle, but of no importance to function. The strangest thing was that it didn’t have a box at all and was sealed in a bag. Other than that, felt and looked like my other SRM knives. It’s identical to the drifter except in appearance and all the hardware are hex instead of torx. That and it’s missing the lifetime warranty
Still waiting here
