Anybody have some tried and tested hosts that will make decent throwers? I’m trying to get 75kcd or more in a host a tiny bit smaller than the traditional c8 size.
So far, I think the eagle eye x6 has the best chance of achieving this. I’m assuming I would need to go with a dedomed xpg2, but if it can be done with an xpl or xml2, even better!
I have a X6 BLF edition with a XML2 U3 de-domed on Noctigon with a LD1 driver and a Samsung 25R battery with braided springs and TBH it is a good thrower, it will light up a office block 10 storeys high to its top from a couple hundred feet away no problem.
I have no way of testing KCD of it but its better than the Tangsfire C8 with claimed XML2 U3 I had by quite a bit.
I have a Convoy M1, XM-L2 3C dedomed at a 4 amps. I measure just over 40 kcd but my numbers seem to be a little on the low side.
Changing to a cooler tint, dedomed XP-G2 properly driven just may get you where you want to be.
I also have a SolarForce L2M with and XP-G2 3C dedomed at 3.6 amps and aspheric lens. Measures 54.5 kcd.
Again, changing to a cooler tint and maybe pushing a little harder may get to 75 kcd.
Good to know about the solar force p60 and m1 numbers. Those are some decent numbers, but just doesn’t cut it. Any others out there?
Yes, but an XP-G2 1A, dedomed driven at 4.5A or so in the M1 may just reach 75K.
