i love this flying helicopter. You indeed enjoy a happy Sunday.
Hi, cooofeey, welcome to BLF.
Aloha and welcome to BLF cooofeey!
Possibly ...
This build has come in at $146.50 so far with Tx ....
Kit $28 [ all prices shipped ] 1st fiber kit , not the $21.50 (2nd bite of the apple)
Tx $53 [ Computer Tx - stand alone - no PC ]
Motor $15
Head $15.60
Gyro $12.90
ESC $10
Servos $10-$12
Nice! Is there a good website detailing what's necessary to get into this hobby? Definition of terms and parts, etc. I assume Tx is the transmitter?
As a hobby (years ago) I used to fly real helicopters (small two man reciprocating engine) but stopped as it was too expensive of course.
Recently I was at a friends house and his son had a much more basic RC helicopter than the one you have. It was impossible to hover (didn't have an anti-torque rotor) and was only roughly controllable.
Yours looks interesting. Probably harder to fly than the real thing in most respects. I'd like to find a website to read up on the stability and controlability issues with RC helicopters.
I understand the issues involved in full scale manned helicopters but RC must have its own issues...one of which being the pilot not being in the machine :)
It would be nice to get a video camera in one.
lots of forums : RcGroups.com covers most of RC , another is http://www.helifreak.com/
If you want something stable , you may wish to check out the V911 micro heli
Its a fixed pitch machine and there very stable , and mainly for indoor flying , cost you about $50 shipped to play .
Hmm just calculating my next build :
So far I have . ( This will be in USD ) and all prices shipped
450Kit $11.45 Ebay Auction
4000KV Motor $7.63 Ebay Auction
ESC $10.22 Ebay
Gyro $10.18 Ebay
Servos $8 (4) Hobby King
Rotor Blades $3.67 Ebay
$51.15 was to expensive , gone over budget $1.15
Looks like one could do it for less than $100 with Tx ... (not buying another Tx)
less than $100,It costs little, right?I know little about this market.
What's your plan for this Sunday?Play with your helicopter?

Quality / upmarket Kits run $500 , and you can blow a grand or more easy if you want ..
Im flying Ultrafire kits ( ha ha )
Most kits go $70 to $100
and so far the cheapest Ive been able to get is a kit costing $12.01 Oz bananas .
In the heli world thats like a $1 flashlight .... Now wonder the elite look down on the cheap kits ..
Bit like Surefire Fans look down on Ultrafire ...
Thats life I guess ..
Im currently flying two of these cheap kits [ slightly upgraded ]
and there are 3 more on the way [ oh dear ]
Plan is to build them and sell them , there by saving some one a lot of time and possible grief
I fly when ever the weather allows me , been very windy the last two days , but still squeezed in a few minutes for some testing
Somehow I think the RC community doesn't have as much of that 'looking down' per-se, but rather see it as a means of opening up the hobby to a greater community, and opening up pathways for those to try stuff out. Well thats how I see it, and there doesn't seem to be as much of this elitism about it.
I guess its more about building/modding than it is about absolute materialism. In the rc hobbies, its more building and flying ability, while with flashlights, its mostly about the collecting (although some may deny that exact terminology).
