that would have a tape ruler printed on them so instead of just throwing them in a box with a zillion other lanyards I’ll never use, at least I’d have a zillion 10” lanyards I’ll use once in a great while when I go somewhere and I need to measure something I’ll also never use.

Making things square cut is more efficient in terms of material wastage. I dont think they would do it because then theyd have to increase their cost price of materials by around a fifth.

Abso-fracking-lutely. This is something I’m wishing for as well. I was starting to think I was the only one around here who hated seeing images of square (not even properly square) LEDs when projecting a beam. Although “disgust” might be too strong of a word, my sentiments about it definitely lean in that sort of general direction.

A decent 4 mode 1AA driver with the efficiency of the ZL ones, no strobes and in different sizes like 14,15,16,17 mm PCBs.
I also wish someone would make 20, 21 and 22mm to 17mm driver adapter rings, so we don’t have to go hacking up bits of other things.

Maybe it’s my age, my aging eyes, whatever, but I have yet to have an issue with PWM flickering. What’s the real deal with this phenomenom? Is it very unique per person to pick up and affects something like only 5% of the population type of thing?
Want something like the Shadow 750x that takes d26 dropins. I want big capacity jumps in 26650’s just like the 18650’s. I wish Chinese lights really gave the lumens they claim along with their excellent battery capacities. I wish my wife would say what she means. I wish ammo and gun prices would come down.

It’s an individual thing to a degree and it depends on the frequency of the PWM. I don’t have a problem with it either except in the most extreme (poorly done) cases. If it’s too slow it is a problem however but it doesn’t need to be that slow.
Regarding round emitters and aspherics. It’s not a complete solution but you can just trade a little throw and defocus the aspheric a bit and round off the hotspot that way.
I have a light that I modified a bit (using an aspheric) and I can use it as is for maximum throw or just twist the head a bit to defocus slightly for a more round hotspot that doesn’t throw quite as far.
