Hey guys, I am going to try live broadcast with my assistant Selina. I would love to hear what you think.
In the past few years, sofirn made some popular models but some models or models in different colors are not that popular. I would love to offer a nice discount for the discontinued models during the live.
This is my first time trying. I need your suggestions.
For example, where to broadcast? Youtube, Facebook or instagram? What time would be better? Since we are all in different time zones, and I am not sure what time is good for you to watch, I really need your opinions.
Would weekends be better? You guys may have plan to enjoy weekends with families.
Thank you!
Barry
Hmm…
Sounds interesting.
I don’t think I’ll watch the broadcast, but I’ll read about it on BLF of course.
I don’t have any suggestions, but I hope it goes well. ![]()

4 AM UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) would be a compromise between Europe, US and China imo, but China’s single timezone is weird. Focus the timezome on your biggest (enthousiast) market?
-
Will it be in english?
-
Maybe add some sneak peaks or reveal info on some upcoming lights ?
-
Also, I think it might be a fun idea to raffle out some gear… I mean giveaways are always a big hit on streams to get viewers (surprise, surprise).
Maybe some older prototypes, stuff that never hit the market, or lights that aren’t available anymore? -
like you said, some “unavailable” models at a discount would be very interesting to me!

Weekends are probably the best for most people
Broadcast time is a difficult choice and should be based on your targeted market
I’d prefer having it in English but I guess closed captions are inevitable unless it’s tailored just for the US
Discounts are always good ![]()
How long do you plan on broadcasting, and what exactly do you plan on talking about?
Groovy. I’d check it out. Weekends or weekdays late night for us yanks here in USA. Not too late/early AM though. I know China is probably 12+ hours ahead of US pacific time.
Definitely YouTube. Many, like myself, do not have accounts on facebook or instagram… Though I guess there are ways to make them open. I think, it would just be easier for most to use YouTube.
As to time, I have no recommendation. It will be hard to pick a time that will work for a global audience. Maybe record it an leave it up for a day. Allow entries for the GAW (edit: Discounts) part for that time only ??
Since Barry mentioned discounts rather than GAW’s he can just post links to them in the (hopefully) Youtube broadcast.
Having a bunch of nubile baibz in cheerleading outfits, fawning over various flashlights, would definitely work for me.
YouTube.
A lot of knife channels have live streams Friday evening around this time:
Friday 7pm California
Friday 10pm New York
Saturday 10am Beijing
Saturday 1pm Melbourne
Saturday 3am London
I’d probably aim for this time given the market size of the US.
Thank you for all the good suggestions, you guys are so helpful! ![]()
Here is my plan:
*Our broadcast will definitely be in English.
-
We will also introduce some new products.
-
Giveaways will also as a part in our broadcast.
-
We are going to broadcast during evening time in the US. We may also choose a different time to broadcast again for Sofirn fans from other countries.
Sounds fun.
YouTube or Twitch are probably the platforms most people would prefer, youtube is the most accessible overall probably.
Youtube is definitely the best platform for this IMHO.
I just watched the “live” feed. It is too bad that the bandwidth was so poor. Picture was so pixelated that the lights could not be seen.
Maybe test next time.
Audio was good. I enjoyed the conversation greatly. Just wish I could have seen what was going on.
