I bought a set of LED replacement bulbs for my car. They work, but the LED temperature is 6000k and I hate it. I think a nice neutral 5000k, or even a little warmer, would be much better.
The LEDs are those 5050 style cheap Chinese ones as per the picture below.
At the moment I think I'm going to have to buy a string of 5000k LEDs from eBay and transfer them to these 'bulbs'. It's stupid cheap, but failing that does anyone have a source for these as bare emitters?
I got 10 individual blue 5050 chips here. They have pure white and warm white, which may be too cool and too warm for you. Not sure if you'll be able to source individual 5000K chips. May need to buy a short strip.
Thanks for the link. I at least know the footprint is PL-CC6 now which has helped me find them on Mouser. The problem is they are over $1 each, so I think I'll bite the bullet and just buy the string of 5000k LEDs from eBay. Thanks again!
Haha, yes I'm still kicking about. Focusing hard on the things that forced me to take a time out, but if anything light related pops up I can't help but find myself looking around here every now and then :)
Sup!? lol. Just sticking my head in when I can't solve my own problems haha. Then again it really seems I didn't look hard enough. That's what I get for being away for so long - I forgot all the usual places to buy goods from!
Nice to see you chiming in every now and then, I hope you keep doing that :-).
(I'm trying to slow down here too. What helps me sticking around is keeping the amount of obligations low, and I allow myself to always do the nice things first .)
