Hi there, I am looking for a source of say XP-G3 R3 or similar LEDs ~600-1200 mA driving current and similar binned with a high CRI and ~4000 K temperature.
The exact LED-type is less important since I want to use multiple in serial and will dim them 99% of the time anyways.
I ordered 8 of those Nichia 219C, they are a bit less efficient, but that is okay.
Will be driving them with a MeanWell LCM-60 @1400 mA ~24 V I think, maximum.
Since the LED-Driver is constant current, flicker should not be a problem, hopefully, because I will dimm them to ~50% all the time, and only use the full 100% power for short “blinks”.
I hope so, they will make my living room light.
100% is only meant for notification flashes. I am thinking of 8-10 LEDs behind frosted glass. The base will be milled from a massive 6mm aluminium plate, 30x40cm.
The controller will be an ESP32 so I can implement MQTT controls and maybe even BT.
I need basic control via a stupid flip switch so I will buffer the ESPs power supply for ~500ms to offer ramping or 3 step dimming via the switch.
The MeanWell driver is dimmed via PWM…
That is the rough outline so far…
Not sure about the design yet but since I am not a designer I will keep it simple and cooling optimized.
The glass/plexi will be flush with the aluminum to make for easier cleaning.
