I haven’t even received the SP36 Pro I ordered and I’m already looking for emitters to swap into it.
So far the options are:
SFT40 5000K (I have a D4Sv2 Quad SFT40 6000K)
XHP50.3 5700K 3v
SFN 43/40
SFQ65
Has anyone tried these emitters in their SP36 Pro?
If so what are your thoughts?
Didn’t the SFT40 5000K have issues with phosphorus burning at a certain over current? Not sure, I just feel I read it somewhere. Might be dangerous in a FET hotrod.
I tried the XHP50.3 3V, the SFQ65 and the Yinding 5050. The XHP beam had a blue spot right in the middle, and the SFQ was awful. It ended up with the Yinding. Didn’t tried the SFT40 but from the swaps I’ve seen this is also a good combo.
Now that you mention it i do remember the 5000K had some issues with the phosphor burning and being fragile.

I have one in a M21B with 8A buck and it works fine, just no clue if it can take the SP36,
I would go SFT40 5000K. The tint is great. I have one from Convoy and one from Hank (several more from Convoy yet to find a host). I only recall seeing a couple posts about problems with them, which I’d hardly call a trend.
Unfortunately no, i used the 6500K 95 CRI version, and they are out of stock. Even the standard versions are out of stock, which seems strange to me. Closest we can get now is the 6500K 95 CRI FFL505A, slightly colder than the Yinding but similar light quality and a little more output.
I’m pretty sure I saw someone do that on r/flashlights a while back, the beam looked pretty good. Should also be perfectly safe for the emitters.
50.3Hi works, but it needs slightly thicker gasket to negate the blue center of the hotspot. I think TheFreeman did that to fix the problem, when he build his SP36pro version.

I hope the tint and beam looks decent
