There’s CA debonder you can try, I hear this stuff works good:
Thanks again for all of your help - I now have a bottle of this de-bonder en-route. I’ll try to be conservative with my initial application out of fear of damaging the electronics.
Hopefully this’ll do the trick and if not - it’s good stuff to have on hand (*I have also seen this brand/product recommended, haven’t ever tried it)
Edit: I 3d printed a little handle for my pokey tool, and gave the tip of it a thick elastic cap so that I could push with more force and comfort of mind.
Still no luck. Hopefully the de-bonder will do the trick - Will def keep the thread updated. Massive PITA to get this driver loose (in my case)
If you destroy the driver, the one of the convoy 3x21c (25a buck + 54A fet) fits with just very little modifications and works like a charm if you put lhp531 in - brighter than a stock q8+!
Just updating - a user on r/flashlights suggest that I try freezing the light’s head to try and weaken the glue - that did the trick! I damaged one of the emitters doing the swap being sloppy with my tweezers, but it lights up - and the tint is much improved! Thanks for the help everyone.
Beam has a pronounced donut now, but that doesn’t bother me much for this use case.
FFL5009R 3v 5000k in here now!
Awesome, I’ll try that on my second one, when I have time to work on it.
