Spiritual successor to the 2018 flashlight - Jetbeam IIM Xp-l Hi?

I flippantly lent my 6 year old my old Jetbeam IIM Xp-l Hi and he proceeded to lose it on Beaver camp, which was entirely predictable, and entirely my fault.

Now it’s gone, I realise what a bargain that thing was. I managed to get it for £18, and the specs still hold up today…

Can anyone suggest any modern equivalent of this, in terms of toughness and performance?

Maybe not quite as rugged, but the Convoy M1 should be very close size and performance wise. You can still get it with the 2.8 amp driver (xpl hi) which should get you to the 1100 lumen spec, or very close with temp control and great battery life. You can also get the sft 40 or osram emitters with higher amp drivers for even more punch. Xhp50 and 70 hi available as well for maximum light from that 18650 body. It is still really inexpensive too.

People are currently trying to talk Simon into offering potted M1 - that would give it another nudge closer to being rugged and “mil-grade”.

For XP-L HI, I would recommend the 5A buck driver instead. It is more efficient, and might be a little bit brighter on the 100% mode. If 100% is too bright, there is a group with max power of 50%.
