Could you go wrong for $1.50?

Jerry
yes, because it’s crap
Edit: Take this one: http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_131992.html?wid=21
Or the High CRI Version which is also a bit brighter: http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_554387.html
It may be, but how do you know?
I have several of the SingFire lights, and do like them.
Thanks, Jerry
I once had this thing, it’s a generic 0.5W LED, the Bezel and the switch are made from plastic and it feely horribly cheap.
Thanks,
I bought 3 just to see. Maybe they will do for gifts or maybe not. Maybe nothing gained and little lost.
I appreciate the information.
Regards,
Jerry
PS. I like the SS SingFire better than any other 1 mode light I have owned. Next is the Hugsby XP1.
Yip, those are crap…
I have several singfire SF-348’s that I am happy with, but this light appears to be much lower quality. The machining on the SF-348 is so good I didn’t even know the bezel unscrewed until I read it in this forum, plus the 348 has a “shoulder” around the switch so it’s hard to accidentally turn on. It’s easy to see the gap between bezel and barrel in the pics of this light and it’s missing the shoulder. The light in this link looks exactly like a light I received as a free giveaway at a conference. It was very cheap, and had a plastic insert for a lens that included the company’s logo so that every time you used the light you saw the logo. Ended up taking out the logo insert and leaving the light in my luggage as a “use it in case I forgot to pack anything else light”. When the battery corroded I threw it away.
Thanks, jch,
I suspect it will take some time to receive the ones I bought. Hope it is not too flimsy to gift. If so then I still have some Hugsby xp-1 and SF-348s.

I received the three lights, and they are not too bad. The switch works well and I am going to order more. I plan to give a couple to friends and see if they are rugged, and not go south soon. I intentionally dropped one on the floor. The light came on, but turned off when I activated the switch. I have been carrying it for several days, and think it is a good buy. Will have to wait to see if it fails soon.
I do claim it is as good as the Singfire, but what does the average person need for a pocket or purse light?
It is important to know that non-flashoholics don’t care a whit about the color or shape of the beam. They just want reliability. When the switch is pressed they get light. I have been carrying one of these for a few days, and frankly like it. It will take time to see if they are reliable, but the switch feels good and I ordered three more for a total of 6. It suffers from a common ailment of cheapies, and that is the threads.
