When I connect to budgetlightforum.com, a connection blocker I use reports all of these occurrences as being blocked. Is there some connection to the US Dept. of Energy that BLF has that I am unaware of?
Your department of energy is investigating us? They may be aware of the amount of kWh stored in our drawers, if form of all kinds of batteries. Some members have such a big collection that is catching the attention of the government
I am sure they are watching every forum & thread we make/visit. Certain keywords likely trigger a closer look. Threads with stories of flashlights & lithium batteries exploding and looking like a pipe bomb likely send the NSA our way. Teamed up with words like: Model airplanes, lasers, police flashlights, duty belt, holsters, guns, copper pipe, thread, I am sure you get the idea.
After all we all may own a Surefire light or something that qualifies for this warning:
“ITAR Notice
Export of the commodities described herein is strictly prohibited without a valid export license issued by the U.S. Department of State, Office of Defense Trade Controls, prescribed in the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), Title 22, Code of Federal Regulations, Parts 120-130.”
Also this little jewel of information:
“National Network of State and Major Urban Area Fusion Centers
The heart of our government’s national security information sharing challenge is to provide analysts the ability to analyze and quickly draw appropriate inferences from multiple and sometimes disparate information sources lies. This is to share the right information, with the right people, at the right time.
Prior to 9/11, the information flow between federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial partners was not sufficiently robust to achieve a strong, effective, and productive nationwide information sharing partnership. Today, thanks to our efforts, that is changing. Today, fusion centers serve as focal points within the state and local environment for the receipt, analysis, gathering, and sharing of threat-related information between the federal government and state, local, tribal, territorial and private sector partners. To support these information sharing efforts, federal agencies have significantly improved coordinating the planning and provision of deployed personnel, training, technical assistance, exercise support, security clearances, connectivity to federal systems, technology, and grant funding, in support of the National Network of Fusion Centers.”
So, I guess BLF is unwittingly part of a “Fusion Center”! LOL
I also use peerblock its really great but I stop using it for Web browser because its almost impossible to navigate websites unless you manually allow multiple entries for each websites. Better use a proxy or VPN.
It block all connections using a selected list of IPs (mine block 800 millions), it works like a firewall. Even windows have this function if you modify a file in the system.
Can’t be really effective because they obviously can’t know and update in time all the suspicious addresses in the whole internet but its alot better than nothing.
Tax penalty for not buying a flashlight of the month plan, less flashlight for your money, no flashlight coverage until you’ve paid $3000 in a year, and more profits for the flashlight insurance distribution companies…the only good thing would be some flashoholics here would spend $3,000 out of pocket pretty quickly and then have free flashlights the rest of the year!
