This is an old archived streaming video. It happens to contain video of a friend of mine’s (deceased) father from 1990. It is the portion between minute 35 and 36.
This link will not always be good so I’m wondering if there is anyway to capture that portion of that video?
I have no idea but maybe someone on here does.

Yeah, there are a few ways to do it. Once I get on my computer I'll do it for you.
I would probably use Jdownloader. It works just like Downloadhelper firefox. Just make sure it steals the *.mp4 file. Then using movie maker or some other movie editor, snip the mintues u want.
Downloadhelper wont pull that stream for me, but VLC media player can do it. Here’s the address:

Thanks. I’m really not that knowledgeable in this area. The 35-36 one minute segment is all I need and it will make it a much smaller file.

Yeah, there’s about a thousand different tools that can do it. Personally I like VLC though because it’s like a swiss army knife for media, and I tend to be a minimalist when it comes to the number of apps I have installed.
Minor difficulties but I should be able to get it up at some point tonight.

Thanks. Now…how do I download it? I don’t see a link or I don’t recognize it when I see it I suppose?
I just checked the “help” section on that page and I see a “download” button however it doesn’t appear on my page.
Upon further reading I see that you have to be the “owner” of that video and you have to login first before that “download” button will appear.
In this case the “owner” would be Scaru I believe.

I used to love camstudio, insanely clear once you get the lossless codec. Last time I tried to install it a few months ago, it kept on missing startup files after multiple redownloads, was pretty annoying. I’ll go see if it’ll work now.
That happened to me earlier when I tried to do this myself. It is annoying.

It’s not the same part of the video now or the same quality. The sound is not related to the video and the video isn’t that same one minute section that you had on the other page.
