I have a few of the Streamlight lightboxes

I bought one a long time ago. and got a few others when my FD surplussed them. I bought one of the OEM LED upgrades, Not bad, but for $70+ it’s not much. I want to drop in a decent emitter and Use the 6V Sealed Pb 12Ah battery that I bought for it. I was thinking of putting like 20 18650’s in there. My main goal is massive runtime. Not expecting anyone to walk me through this but anyone have a direction to point me in? Thoughts, Ideas, good, bad, and utterly asinine ideas are equally welcomed and appreciated.

for LED you need heat sinking
the light will have as it is almost no heat sink, but you may get a small fan cooler

then very big disadvantage of that reflector is the focal point is a few cm inside the reflector, but for LED you need one with a parabolic and the LED on the end of the reflector

Also have a Lightbox and a Vulcan. Would be interested in some mods as well. The thing about the Litebox is you could run that thing all night and never go dead.

The bulb in it is a small halogen, it sits on a base about halfway between the back and the front of the reflector. I had planed on cutting the head to add a heat sink out the back. The head is a separate unit.

if you want cut half the reflector for an LED this works but not really efficient
