I just picked up a brand new streamlight task light 3aa for a good deal. beautifully made light, love the feel, but not real bright. has anybody modded a streamlight before? would make a sweet light if it was brighter.

I have. It was years ago I replaced the Lux III with a Cree XR-E when that was the hottest LED.

think I can replace the led and keep the same driver? or would that even be worth it?
