I've bought lately many powerfull XM-L based flashlight, but now I have the need for a smaller light to EDC when the dressing style is not really compatible with a belt holster.
I would like something the size as a UF-2100, and compatibility with 18650 is welcome as I have plenty of them.
I thought that in such a small reflector a smaller die would cast a tighter hotspot. I would like a good throw from it. That's why I think an XP-G would be better than an XM-L in this application. Also will heat signicantly less than a full driven XM-L in such a small body.
Other emitters can be taken in account also. XR-E? Or the new XP-G2? Intl.Outd. has that new XP-G2 EDC light that is appealing a lot, but would not like to be the guinea pig...
If you like the UF2100 form factor, go with the new EDC from IO or CNQG (its the same). If you prefer the UF2100, get a modded one from E. You dont always have to use a high mode just because its there. XML works pretty well on 1A, too. :)
That EagletacD25LC2 looks nice, but reading the instructions seems an overcomplicate UI with too many programmable functions and not easy programming sequence. I'm not saying that it's so complicate I can not use, just that looks like one would need a whole evening to study the instructions and test&try all those button&twisting sequences to program it, and sure the next day I would have forgotten how-to again, LOL!
Also, took a look on the net, cannot find a good online store with good prices and free shipping international. Anyone?
The I.O. EDC XP-G2 is increasing my curiosity... But I want to see how Hank will deal the problems of my C88 (severely underdriven) before ordering again.

Review is one year old, not hard driven at 1A but poster said it has a nice throw for the size.
It looks very "classy", something very different from all my other more rugged torches.
