FYI…they are selling Sugru at Sunsky now. Have to add a little shipping which comes to about $1.70/ea. 3 units for about $3.02 total including shipping…compare that to 3 units on Sugru website which is almost $14.00 dlvd!
Wow, do they do international shipping (site seems to be based in US)?
I thought they were in China…at least that is where they shipped my previous order from…also sez so in upper lefthand corner of website. They have a shipping calculator…perhaps you can put your location in and get a rate?
I would like to mold that Sugru. But it’s pricey. :weary:
I feel the same. Did you see the Oogroo recipe line in post 14? I already purchased the silicone and corn starch.
I’ll try that. It’s just that their server is located in the US (Amazon hosting. >.<).
sunsky seems to have some fantastic deals =)
this is great! nice write-up, i can foresee some custom illumination projects in the future using this
sugru has no translucent product at the moment, so can’t wait to try it
let us know your results ImA4Wheelr
I thought I’d share what I used the Sugru for so far.
Like Radians custom ear product, the earphones didn’t come out well. It dries firm so they didn’t fit well afterwards.
I also tried using it to stick some neodymium magnets to my Sipik SK-68 clone but the magnets weren’t strong enough to keep the light stuck to anything. Epoxy would be better than Sugru too.
But it was okay for a quick fix of some cheap probes as I didn’t have any banana plugs:
I also put some on the ends of my eyelash curlers because they were a little sharp:
Would I buy it again? Maybe, if I knew what I wanted to use it for first. It was interesting to try though.
thanks chloe
is that the sunsky stuff?
my eyes were popping at the standard zip lock packaging it arrived in and i threw them immediately into the freezer
well the experiment to see how long it stores starts now
No, I got mine from Amazon (I had bought it before I started the thread). Mine came in these little silver foil sachets, in this retail packaging. I put the remaining two in the fridge (I’m surprised it is still soft!).
Thank you for the updates. That stuff seems so cool.
I got the ingrediants to make ooguro or what ever the diy stuff is being called. I’m worried the organic matter in the cornstarch will eventually rot though.
So, did anyone get the sunksky sugru and if so was it any good?
good product to wrap my son’s head, as he is starting to crawl…
