Summer cleaning - found some "surprise" flashlights

I don't clean my living areas very often.

I plan to organize my room and the living room this summer.

That's where I hang out the most, and that's where my stuff is.

I have tons of empty boxes, bubble mailers, stuff to recycle, and stuff to throw away in my living areas.

I cleaned part of my computer table in my room today, and I found two "surprise" flashlights.

I don't remember buying these flashlights, but they look like pretty decent flashlights.

One is a Sofirn SF36 and the other is a Warsun CT9T.

No one goes in my room but me, and the flashlights were where I put flashlights that I like.

How awesome is that?

Finding flashlights that I totally forgot about is pretty cool.

Also, if I clean my living areas, I'll have a lot more free space.

I even got a nice box cutter to chop up boxes for recycling.

This box cutter is $12 on Amazon, but a bit cheaper elsewhere.

I wanted the box cutter as quickly as possible, so I ordered it with Amazon Prime.

The box cutter was $4 on Lowe's, but now it's $8 and you can't pick it up at the store any more so you have to order $35 worth of stuff for Lowe's.

That’s better than finding 20 bucks in your pocket.

Oh, yeah.

Winter here is about 2 months long.

Spring and Fall are about 2 months.

And Summer is about 6 months long based on how warm/cool it gets in Palm Desert.

Yep, I was pretty happy when I found flashlights that appeal to me that I don't remember acquiring.

That happens to me sometimes. Usually there is Bourbon involved.

Did they have batteries in them?
If so do the batteries have most of their original capacity (assuming you have an interest/ability to test them)?

Olfa makes nice cutters, I have their circle cutter and rotary cutter. Nice find on the flashlights, a nice surprise for sure!

The latter you won in the “Ban the previous poster Giveaway…” of member AlexGT

Some of my flashlights that I don't use did have batteries in them.

I took the batteries out yesterday.

I don't have a charger to test the capacity, but I don't worry about that.

Thanks for that!

I was wondering where that one came from.

I'm pretty sure I bought the other one, but today I barely remember buying it.

I found a "surprise" Olight S30 Baton.

I must have gotten that on sale or used because I don't think I would have paid full price for that.

EDIT:

I paid $21.57 for the Olight.

It was on sale at Gearbest.

That's a pretty good deal, though I've barely used it.

With me, it’s always “Wherenahell did I put my…” instead.

I think the Flashlight Gnomes are at it again.

The Flashlight Gnomes' three-phase business plan:

Phase 1: Collect flashlights

Phase 2: ?

Phase 3: Profit

Based on this reasoning, I think I may be a Flashlight Gnome.

What the heck was Phase 2 again?

Good job cleaning your living areas. I would recommend keeping this rather high on the priority list. Living is undignified enough without adding to it by not cultivating our environment, our body, and our mind. Such cultivation is a large part of what it means to be a high functioning adult. Personal development. Cultivating the immediate environment is probably the easiest of the three. As for cultivating the body, look to calisthenics, body weight exercises. A short daily exercise consisting of just one set of pushups, crunches, and squats, will show benefits over time, but also add to that a walk or run or a bike ride, etc., to get the blood moving. More sets will show benefits faster. Daily stretching is also a good idea. Make fitness goals and work towards them. Greater strength and mobility is the objective. Feeling better physically helps to feel better mentally. Physical training is simultaneously training of the mind. You become less averse to discomfort, to the expenditure of energy, to exposure to heat and cold. Other major components of health and fitness are diet, hydration, and sleep. Diet isn’t complicated. Nutrient dense foods provide more nutrition per calorie. Eat them. Eat a variety of foods. Cook, at least in a basic manner, if your situation allows for it. Cook something complex every once and a while for fun. In regards to the mind, reading is a good move, in place of other forms of entertainment. I’d recommend looking into psychology subjects such as cognitive behavioral therapy, theories regarding personality, self control, self organization. Philosophy, aka thinking, is another worthwhile tract. Watching or listening to interviews and speeches which feature some of our more advanced thinkers is cognitively productive. Having monologues with yourself, speaking to others, and writing, contribute to better thinking and articulation.

I just sorted through my freezer, if that counts.

I’m surprised your flashlights don’t have dedicated homes.

Most of mine live on the shelf but several are put in strategic places, one in a drawer that can be found by touch in a power outage, 4 in the car, one on a table leg (magnetic), one in the dining room, one hanging on the wall and two that float.

I’d be concerned about your “lighter than air flashlights”. Open windows or ceiling fans can be inviting to those characters…

I hate to think about the liabilities if a passing car crashes into one of your floating lights.

Xtar did a great job on them (Moon RC2), i have to weigh them down to keep them in one place.

In your location, if you look southwest, you might just see his lights over the Goodwin sands…
